    even the metrics prove it!

See that? Lowest of the low. Worst of the worst.

Now here's something that really sparked my interest in starting this thread....

Now you see that Harkus win/loss differential? Pretty staggering if you ask me. LSM and CSM are almost identical in class choice and loadout options with the outliers being ground assaults and supports. Shield bros make a bit of a difference for guarding the tunnel entrance but other than that the ground assaults are minor players in the fortress. Supports though are major influences as keeping players alive while defending is paramount to victory and having a good healer around to keep a push going is important for attacking. Apothecaries far outshine Sorcerers in keeping a squad moving since they can fairly easily jam a syringe into their team mate's dying corpse and get them back up fighting. Can't tell you how many times I've kept a push going by just running around slamming F on downed friendlies.

What's Sorcerer got? A heal beam that can't keep someone he is actively channeling on alive from one guy focus firing on him. It takes at least 2-3 seconds of actively channeling on someone to get them on their feet then back to fighting form. All the while the Sorcerer is just standing there with a big glowing "Shoot me!" sign attached to their face! Oh yeah, not to mention that it doesn't even work half the time!

    UGH!

I was already sore about the state of the Sorcerer but this data just confirms what I already knew and is really rustling my jimmies!

Will be happy when a balance pass eventually comes by for LSM vs CSM supports. I estimate the heal beam healing rate will be increased 2-3x, as will the damage from SoC, and apoths will either lose about 50% accuracy with their bolters or be allowed to only use pistols. As it is currently, if you don't need to cap a point yourself, there's no reason to pick a tactical and not an apothecary on LSM, while using a sorc is a huge change of pace on CSM that severely limits your ability to contribute to a fight.

Sorcerer is a support class, there would be something off if they were topping the leaderboards in kills. They aren't bad though, the ranged heal is quite a boon that lets you cower like a little bi- I mean stay in cover while you heal your team up, having a power sword to defend yourself isn't a bad way to go either. I doubt you'll find anyone that will argue that the poison/debuff spells are good, but even now the class serves a purpose.

On a separate note; I like how the graph shows chaos way out in front in terms of games won yet people still complain that LSM are OP xD

It's not a power sword. It's a force sword. Different animal altogether.
  5. I never supported the notion that "Support" means that they must be inferior in combat. Lower TTK, melee focused, and abilities that show the enemy exactly where you are to me always sounded like a combination for a starkly underpowered class, particularly when you factor in it only has 2 dodge rolls and a Sword that loses to almost everything in clashes as a primary weapon. This just proves what I've been saying all along, which is pretty disappointing as Sorcerors are my favorite group for 40k and they've been negated to healbot, and I'm not convinced that the new spells will make them sufficiently better.

Chaos Sorcerers are still warriors first and foremost, both the lore and TT see them as more than competent combatants.

It's close enough for the purposes of this game, could be a reskinned chainsword but even that isn't much different than a real power sword.

I agree with you, in part any way. They should be every bit as tough(as they are now) and have weapons that deal full damage compared to the baseline troops, but instead of options to make them better in a straight fight, they get the added toys.

Yea, sorcs should definitely be able to top leader boards when they're doing their jobs. I very rarely get more than 5 kills in a game, but I usually end up in a respectable area. I don't get as high up as I used to, but a solid squad is just as much a part of my ranking as my contribution to that squad.

Personally, I love playing sorcerer. I'm sure I'll love it more once the class gets redone. I don't even plan on casting many offensive spells. I'll probably go full biomancy healbot once all the stuff is in.

I'm already imagining a scenario that happened in WAR when I played. The disciples of kain would never heal anyone EVER. I always got so mad at the chaos healers playing their class like a melee dps.

Anyway...sorc. Yeah it deffinitly needs a speed up on its support skill so that they can also be part of the action. I hope they get a bigger arsenal as well.
  9. At the Moment the Sorcerer is but a shadow of what he should be.
The Apothecary is the better healer, and probaly will always be. But I think once the introduce offensive and support spells you can choose from, a sorcerer will be more than a weak healbot, but also a thread in the right situations. Just think about a demonic shield that guards downed players and the sorcerer from incoming fire, so he can heal his teammate up, doombolts clearing a building of the initial defence or buffing a MoN Assault to perform better than usual.

The Sorc just lacks what should be pivotal for him at the moment: Sorcerery! :D
