Something that has been brought up many times before

    Like the title already states, this is not the first discussion on this matter. However, I haven't seen a thread about it since Christmas, so I bring it up again since this subject is important to me.
    As most of you (or rather all of you) know, the real enemy in EC is not the enemy. It's the timer.
    It encourages rash behaviour, straight charges and headless assaults. No time for finesse, because if you try, you lose valuable seconds. Which is sad, because the maps seem to be designed with tactical play in mind (at least some places). The irony is that teamplay is important here, while tactical play is not. Like walking is allowed, but running isn't.

    So please, bring us a gamemode or even several gamemodes that have no timer.
    On the rather primitive side would be a team deathmatch (maybe even with all factions with 10 players each?).
    Or neutral points with a victory bar in equilibrium and both factions have to hold a majority of the objecitves until the marker hits their end of the bar and they win.
    Or fortress assault with lives on both sides (three or four times the count for attackers). Would also work for ToW.
    Just ANYTHING that runs on victory points and/or life tickets instead of seconds.

    And I want to use my head in more creative ways. Like making battle plans and using tactics.

    For a deeper playing experience we need the time to fight with more sense than your average Khornate (no offense meant). But at the moment that just is not possible. So PLEASE make that happen. The sooner the better, of course. :) (And here we are, fighting against time to get rid of fighting against time...oh the irony.)

    there are many match type that could be fun:

    Capture the relic.classic capture the flag.

    Capture at all cost. like on Maggon (were defender have life) but in the other way. The attacker have life and capturing point give them some back.

    Training team deathmatch. A bit like MAG had a team deadmatch that only have the same faction beatting each other. Sm vs SM, Ork vs Ork ect.

    Interception. You have one tower that transmit info and you have to keep it until its finish. Think about a tug war the enemies get +5 you capture it you do a +2 but its still the enemies that have it at +3.

    Hunt the nids. Its quake chicken chase if you ever play that. One player is the nids he get point you have to find him and kill him so you become the nids.

    Reach the goal. That could be a mutation of match. you have to get to a certain point to win. It could be apply to all the game type

  3. CTF should really be a thing right now. Can make it trying to capture some ancient Relic piece or designs for an old pre Heresy weapon or something.

    I've always thought that CTF mode teaches players the most about teamwork and compositions.

    Plus hey look, Grav Guns would be baller as shit in that mode haha.

    I'd be up for some sort of CTF mode. Carrying the Flag/Relic/Whatever would have to be limited to ground units though or dropped if the player took flight.

    Also a multifaction Team Deathmatch would be pretty good. Pop a simple lead indicator at the top of the screen for the faction with the most kills, then every other faction would start gunning for them until it changed. This kind of gratuitous carnage with temporary alliances of convenience would fit the 40k theme very well. And if the match enforced alliances based on the lead, meaning kills on allied factions were worthless, so much the better.

  5. If it was a match with no time limit it should also be eternal... Like a permanent match that accepts new players when others leave. And you should only gain so much ground and it gets harder for you to play, so it kinda balances out.

    That would stuck the corn up those wieners a*s about PERMANENT WORLD...

  6. Dawn of war II Gamemode:

    You start out neutral on opposing sides of the map. 3 Capture points that are neutral at first. Each team get's 500 Victory Points.
    Once Team A Captures a Point, Team B's Victory points get decreased -1 per second. If Team B now also captures a point, it's 1vs1, nobody looses a point.
    Once Team A captures a second point, it's 2 vs 1 and Team B looses -1 per second.
    Now Team A is awesome and decaptures Team B's Point, now it stands 2vs 0, so team B looses -2 points a second. And As Team A is really good, it captures all 3, so -3 points a second lost to Team B.

    If the match goes on for much too long, sudden Death activates (But that should be after like, 45mins or something like that) Both teams start to loose -1 point per second, to end bugged matches and such

    I would love to see a multi faction battle seeing we're all warring over one single planet.

    A capture the flag through the Tyranid hordes. One squad per faction. Four factions per map. 20 players on the map, swarms of Tyranids. A race to the middle of the map and then up through to another faction's spawn point (can be to deliver a melta bomb that spawns regularly, so any class can run through an undefended base if possible).
