tell me about it .... the power fist stun is rarely working on ork and eldar vehicles too ... theres going to be no catching them ... but melta damage was too high .... so i cant fault them for nerfing melta its more they wont fix the other things wrong with vehicle combat so melta isnt the basically only option ....
In theory, unless there aren't obstacle in the way, you can, you exit where you are aiming at the moment (the white dot in middle of the screen), ofc you need to be REALLY fast when a tank cook is coming. About melta bomb a counter measure could be to rise the LP points required for it or make it to last longer before explosion and the chance to be uncarved out from a vehicle and launched somewhere (and so who deployed it must to defend and no just make suicide runs).
Or how about just making melta and melta bomb mutually exclusive? Can't be that hard to do. Would also promote teamwork, as you need more than one guy on that vehicle if you want it gone fast.
...both of which have far less impact on the game than melta & meltabomb. Call it... asymmetrical balance, if you will.
But you do realize that meltabomb makes the kill faster by about 3-5 seconds only? What you're going to do in that time if you're not defending your transport? Its not like you can stick melta on moving vehicle.
3-5 seconds can make all the difference. I might not kill a dude storming at my tank, slapping on a meltabomb and fwoosh the rest down asap, but I might be able to kill someone that can't just slap on that meltabomb. It will not prevent suicide meltabombs, but you would need two of them instead of one guy with said combo.
The problem with current Melta is even you guard your parked vehicle you're still highly unlikely to save it. The time required to kill the melta user is higher than the time required to destroy the tank... I welcome this change.
