We have many other games have a class like assassin, most of them have less health than other class but faster and maybe have a stealth ability. So how should Striking Scorpion performance in this game?A assassin class or more tactical?
It's been said Eldar playstyle will be a combination similar to what is seen in Metal Gear Rising Revengeance and Vanquish. Just look at those games to get a certain idea to how it should look. In theory wether this turns out to be the case or is still the direction they want is a different story.
I'm not so sure about the 'less health' part, as their armor is just as thick as any other aspect's. I think their main drawback would be range, because the only ranged weapon you'll get will be a pistol. (Mandiblasters aren't designed for ranged combat, they're designed to assist in close quarters.) As for the speed part, maybe faster than average but still not too fast, otherwise they'd be drawing closer to Howling Banshees.
Striking Scorpions are the most conditioned Eldar troops, because they need to carry their heavy armor and still be stealthy about it. Not every Eldar can be one. Their armor is actually heavier than the Banshee's, so they're not as swift. They shouldn't be your average assassin, with high damage, high speed and low defence. They should have normal speed and medium/high defence (for an Eldar). Imo Scorpions - tough, Banshees - incredibly agile.
Scorpions are the strongest and most feared of all the Aspect warriors that's how it should feel to be one and to fight against one.
Though I like your Fervour for the Striking Scorpions, I think the lesser races (read as "all other races in the galaxy") should rightly fear all of Khaine's aspects. Would you not agree?
If you look at the TT stats.. Scorpions are basically as you guys say, they're tougher (if only by virtue of heavier armour), slower (since Banshees get their extra Acrobatic move), but note they are just as quick as other Eldar, and hit harder (read: S4 vs S3 of Howling Banshees). Even within the Eldar Banshees are Glass Cannons, Scorpions are not. Depending on the Stealth Mechanics they will be even harder/more annoying to hit/find/kill. I feel like they'll be more strategic than your classic Assassin role. I guess we'll find out.
Scorpions are not assassins in the traditional sense, and are unlikely to be considered in that light by bE. They are elite assault troops and will likely be tooled that way, with a lock/stun mechanic and probably the highest DoT damage present until Nids arrive as a playable faction. They'll probably be the least mobile aside from Reapers but still have a charge/swipe/bash mechanic once within a certain range, and unlike other heavy troops will be able to scale and parkour with ease. They'll probably also have an armor ignoring aspect that most melee factions won't have. That would be Reapers, by a large margin. They're one of the few units in 40K that can cause damage to literally anything put on the battlefield, up to and including titans and gargants.
i think that the right terminology is "ambusher" they are supposed to have some sort of stealth/hide mechanic but lack the sprint/dash of the banshee.
