Correct me if I'm wrong but don't Word Bearers have white backpacks on a normal day or Black packs when a Apostle dies? I remember in space marine WB's had white packs by on their default pre made color scheme.
In General (although it tends to vary between hosts), the Word Bearers have a silver/white backpack. Also when a Apostle dies, they don't have black packs (I'm pretty sure they don't), since even though the apostle is dead he's not entirely gone.
What is your source of white backpacks? This sounds ridiculous if its true and i have never seen any word bearer with a white or silver coloured bp. And they are my absolute favourites. They paint their shoulderpad black in sign of mourning when the Host's apostle dies. Though , the Council of Sicarus can ressurect any Word Bearer they like , for better or for worse
I just assumed so from looking from the wikis. Pure assumption, basically. Although looking at the other art pieces including the word bearers, they don't have white backpacks...
Oh but these are not their backpacks painted silver mate. These are the metalic pieces that connect the exhausts with the backpack's main body. They are just unpainted metal , like the cables are. Im not sure how you call these parts in english but yeah. If you look behind the helm , you can see that the top is the same colour with the rest of the armor. As for the silver , Word bearers have silver trim , as we can see in the pictures you kindly provided. Edges of armor pieces are painted silver. They should be golden because they took part in the siege of terra but im very fine with silver aswell. If it was golden , we would look too much like Blood Angels or Red Corsairs.
