Emirys gingerly crossed the hall, heading for the shattered window and the world beyond. She paused for a moment, looking in every direction she could manage, before putting her helmet on and looking again.
Emirys managed to step through a grand hallway door and right into a blockade of weaponry. Meltas, bolters, heavy weapons of both sorts and a few flamers were all trained on her as the Sister Superior they had met right after their eventful tram ride yelled into a vox-caster. "HOLD YOUR POSITION SERAPHIM! ONE STEP FORWARD AND YOU WILL BE SHOT. EVERYONE ELSE IN THERE STEP OUT THIS INSTANT, ATTEMPTS TO HIDE WILL BE MET WITH LETHAL FORCE!" Reese audibly sighed for those in reach and took point emerging after Emirys, several weapons were lowered while others just locked in place uncertain what was about to happen. "I need morale control assets and a blessed cell brought forward! Those whom stood with me drop your arms and submit to detainment, no one is free until we've all been properly tested and examined! " Following her own orders the Canoness laid down her arms and kneeled down to sit in place, closing her eyes as the clunks and thunks of her Celestians immediately doing the same echoed her actions. Before the minute was out everyone was in similiar states of stillness with hands mostly out of weapons reach. Teams of Sisters came forward into the building to escort them out, granted with a fair bit more kindness than common criminals. Emerging into the outside world once more it was a good sight prettier and more visible now with the rain fall having choked off altogether leaving behind distant thunder and a grey overcast sky thankfully no longer wracked by malevolent lightning. Those Superiors counted in the group were informed quickly enough that no more fiends appeared to be left upon Trynite, those that had been seen in the middle of combat simply collapsed into puddles of bloody slush once the warp antics at the palace were addressed. Unfortunately it didn't have any effect upon the world itself as most of it was still quite flooded and more over cultist infested. They were going to be here a bit cleaning things up, for no taint could be allowed to fester even upon what would now be called a dead world never again to see the Imperial touch or light of the Emperor. It was not all loss though for at least they had been able to capture the blasphemous artifact seemingly responsible for everything, now locked tight in a golden case covered end from end, side to side with blessed runes and script while Arerina was bound tight in chains until they could get into orbit. Once back aboard their own cruiser and sequestered away in a quarantined section of the Med-bay a battery of permitted medics, priests and interrogators would be flowing in and out performing their duties on the whole lot of them. Every single person whom had stepped into that accursed world was in for a worlds worth of hurt as their bodies and spirits were put to the test in standard fashion. Protocol was being met and they would suffer through it or be deemed weak and submitted to purging. Looking in on all of this over her new charges was a Sister Hospitaller, an aging woman by the name of Eris. One of those few deemed hardened enough against corruption to take the calculated risk of allowing her into the teams section of the Med-bay, charged with the care of no less than the Canoness herself and all those whom had made the unintended dive into a warp taken realm. In the quarantine section of the med-bay Emirys allowed herself to relax. This latest mission had been tough, especially the segment in the Chaos realm, and the Seraphim just wanted to rest for a long time. She tried to avoid the medics and, aware of her 'problems' in the Chaos realm, spent a large amount of time kneeling in front of a priest, praying that she wasn't destined to be among the ranks of the Repentia. Only around the interrogaters was Emirys calm, the Seraphim secure in the knowledge that she had done things right throughout the mission. [OOC: @DeranVendar you can do the describing of the torture etc! Being lazy cause of bed!]
Interrogations were in classic fashion nothing too nice, trials might of been more fitting. There were a great many ways to test ones body for taint, same as the mind, it was a matter of actual effectiveness in those test themselves that were the issue. Being the pragmatic lot that they were the Order of Our Martyred Lady had long ago devised the 'Trial of Waters'. A boiling dip of consecrated holy water where all one had to do was survive being submerged for a solid five seconds. It was a rather extreme measure meant only for small scale, intensive purification due to the actual damage it would inflict but the tubs sanctified form, shaped much like a casket delightfully enough, was engraved with actual wards to ensure it wasn't some baseless crap shoot on whether corruption was actually found or not...those few found too far gone and within its searing depths were quickly left lifeless husks as waters would quickly filter out to allow in voracious acids to cleanse any taint set within the bath. Being sequestered in their own portion of the medical bay there was no restraint in their Interrogators ruthless deployment of the dip. Screams were allowed to be heard freely as one by one the Celestians and Dominion sisters that had accompanied them into the Dry Seas were submitted to agonizing baths. Come time for Miria and her own followers to join in two of their own had been marked as fallen, one from each squad lost whether by weak hearts or weak flesh never to serve again, nor to risk spreading their own corruption beyond their own tainted vessels. First up on the drowning block was Emirys, then Alexandra, Arerina after her then Miria herself. Sister Superior would be held accountable for any failures on those who had served under her and if any of the three were to pass her fate would be in the balance as well. Addec would be going after everyone else being an attached asset, Volantis was being tended to by Mechanicus personnel due to separation of powers.Eris was on hand to begin immediately tending to those who would survive the trial and make sure they weren't lost even after proven pure. Stripped from her power armour, now clothed in a plain white tabard, Emirys was led to the casket-tub that she was to use for her trial. The two interrogaters that had collected her from her part of the med-bay ungently 'helped' the Seraphim into the boiling water, the heat enough to draw a suddenly-cut off wail and an immediate reddening of her skin. Parts of Emirys' brain seemed to burn as well, the wards on the casket and the consecrated nature of the water reacting to the residual traces of Emirys' Chaos-induced psychosis. After what seemed to be eternity, but was only a handful of seconds, Emirys was hauled from the water, a young-looking Sister Hospitaller waiting for her. [OOC: Next!]
Addec was being let to the casket at gun point, he had perhaps becouse of who and what he was been given a bit more freedom than most imperial citizens could ever ask for in a simular situation, this was becouse it was a very known fact around everyone that redemtionists, and especially redemtionists priests all where very fiery individuals and under abselutly no surcombstance would react calmly to being told they needed a test of purity. Addec had happily complied as soon as he had knocked down the first serf to say it aloud, to be honest he would properbly have sugjested doing this himself if they haddent been requiered, self mutilation was a big part of redemtionisem. Addec himself got into the boiling holy water, the water doing imidiat skin damegde to his skin, but Addec had allready been burned many times, by far most of his body allready covered in scars and both second and third degree burns. Addec knew the limit a human body could take before crippling damegde wounds from boiling water, he had boiled people before, and to prove a point to anyone doubting him he did stay in the water longer than 5 seconds, not much, but enough to fend off someone trying to get him up, "THIS WATER IS BARELY BOILING, WHO TOUGHT YOU HOW TO PURIFY" he yelled at the interrogators and retainers before he got out of the water, his skin clearly taken alot of damegde as his body had been heated to dangerous levels, yet he still stood strong.
Alexandra was next, In her own white robes she entered herself into the scalding waters, The Water burned her flesh and the wounds that were healing from her the inside of her muscles of her arms and leg, She kept herself under to prove herself to the her sisters and the Emporer, She was loyal and would fight of any taint, She felt parts of her Skin boil off around her wounded shoulder and her arms and leg and felt the damage to the muscles within, She let out her a whale of pain as 4 seconds came, She kept herself in the boiling water to let the process purify her body, She kept herself in as the 5 second pass she exited the boiling water after 7 seconds, The heat seem to simmer off her skin as she was hauled out off the boiling water and to the hospitaliter and knelt before her. She breathed heavily as she was now allowed to breath took big gasps of air as she tried to stand before the hospitaliter. Soon having troubles she kept kneeling before her.
Once it was Miria's turn she would approach the tub with little fear. She had done this before after all. She then submerged herself under the water, the familiar pain sweeping over her. Her body cried out in agony, but she remained resolute as always. No cries could be heard from outside, but within her mind she was counting the seconds. One. Two. Three. Time always seemed to slow in these burning waters. Seconds felt like minutes when one's entire body cried out in pain. Four. Five. She was out the moment she was allowed. Though some may stay a second or two longer than required, over time she learned approximately how long five seconds was. Or rather... how long it felt like it was. After all, overstaying one's welcome in such heated waters could be detrimental to one's health. Miria approached the Hospitaller without uttering a word or sound of complaint.
Arerina walked over to the bath of holy water using a set of crutches as her leg had yet to be replaced she slowely lowerd her self into the water feeling it sting her stump slightly as she submerged her self for the five seconds, it took her anouther two seconds to get herself out afterwards but she refused any help in doing so and took her crutches and hobbled along to the hospitaller
Sister Hospitaller Eris Having patched up the wounded and stabilized the grievously injured, it was Eris Hydrargyr call that they were prepared for the plunge. Eris didn't speak to the squad, not that they were very talkative. It wasn't her place to interrogate them, that job was left for those assigned to it. How easy it was for her to break as she repaired. Eris was a professional, having tended to countless sisters in her time only to know they would return or not at all. Follow the guards as they made for the testing chamber, Eris made sure to have plenty of medical supplies on stand-by. Part of her knew if they were sound tainted, that only meant less work for her. It was not a comforting thought. Little did they all know, Eris had prayed for each of their souls. Then came the first, Sister Emirys. So soon as she entered, the screams began. That was never a good sign. Until she was completely submerged did the screaming cease. She was pulled carely from the pool, her vitals checked and eyes tested. She was alive, so far so good. The demented lunatic named Addec was next, having proved to be a bit of a handful. Eris held her breath at his claims of purity and insult at being questioned of it. 'They all scream.' She thought with a hint of satisfaction... To everyone's shock, the crazy bastard seemed to enjoy himself. Struggling with him as if trying to keep from being pulled from the pool. Nothing a handy injector couldn't fix. "You have been found clean, so please glote in silence." Eris says before sticking the redemptionist with a sedative. His burns were server, but most of the scar tissue seemed to be from... previously self-inflicted wounds. Next was Sister Alexandra, she had suffered many wounds yet had remained one of the more cooperative patients. Her screams brought no satisfaction the Eris, it never did. Alexandra was found purified and her wounds seared closed. That's one way to remove stitches, Eris thought. She pulled her from the pool and checked her vitals. Luckily the next two were both purified and equally tended to. Sister Miria and Sister Arerina respectively brought to rest with the others. To wait for the interrogators final verdict. "You've done well." She said to those gathered. Not looking at the Receptionist. OOC: may edit later, got alittle rushed towards the end.
