Awesome! I do like sigs but some people ruin it for everyone I wouldnt even mind if sigs were kept away all together
Yeah on a Space Marine site the size of a signature is 500x200 and as long as it isn't offensive or an animated image then it is fine. I made a few a while back. I have a compulsive need for change. I think have personally 50+ signatures that I've used. Some for even less than a day. I was like Tzeentch from the amount of times I changed my signature =P
Yeah, but even 150x500 10x times per page make me cringe. Add the ability to put 2x media per post and you got a Charlie Foxtrot.
I hear ya.I mean there is also the fact that no sigs makes the forums look nice and clean which I also like as well.
I for one would greatly appreciate the chance to add a signature - if people are worried about size, then just make it text-only with a limited amount of characters.
Is that not what the "show signatures" tick box is for? And there is always the option of ignoring a member... people with ridiculous Sigs would start getting ignored. Yeah 500x150 is good for me:
Limits can go pretty low, I think people would prefer having the option to put SOMETHING rather than nothing, even if that something is awfully tiny. I'd be fine with say 50 x 450, no trouble with less either. Much less in fact. But I can see that not everyone would like to join me in a glorious age of 2 pixels high signatures. On the other hand, as has been pointed out, signatures don't add anything to discussion and can get pretty intrusive, and slows down load times. I can see why you'd choose not to have them enabled. But having the ability to add more character with to your posts with a fancy image is... well it's fun! Since so much personality is lost in a text based medium. I mean, there's no body language, no tone of voice, gestures, anything. Just information without a face if you will. Emotes/Smilies/etc became a thing for a reason. You could argue avatars fill this function, but usually people look more at signatures than avatars simply due to their placements. When you finish reading a post the signature is right there. The avatar just sits at the side and is easily ignored, especially if you're caught reading a lengthy thread and just want the get through the text.
