Shining Spears: A Concept

    Hi all,

So as some of you may already know. There is an Eldar Aspect Warrior called the Shining Spear. However, to my knowledge, they are the most underrepresented Aspect Warrior out there. With them not appearing in any media except for Tabletop.

So I thought with the Jetbike coming soon, this might be the perfect chanceto implement them.

    How do they Spawn?

Well, basically they spawn as a standard infantry unit. Equipped with a Laser Lance and Shuriken Pistol + Knife. However, they cannot use their Laser Lance unless they are on a Jetbike, meaning they are only pistol troops on the ground. This would stop them from being used as infantry, and would make their Jetbikes better than other Aspect Warriors'.

    Laser Lances

Basically, these would function similarly to the Falcon's Pulse Laser but with short range. They would have a short charge-up time and then fire a Laser. The damage would be enough to 2-shot a standard marine or deal a slight amount of damage to a tank. They could also one-shot other bikers.

    Other Weapons

Give their bikes the standard Shuriken weaponry as a secondary firearm to use.

    Their flavour, ROADKILL

Give Shining Spears the ability to Roadkill with bikes. However only from the front and when boosting. This would allow them to run-down lone infantry, while not making them as OP as current Eldar vehicles.

    Their Role

Shining Spears would be extremely mobile anti-heavies and light AT units. They would fulfill the same role as Swooping Hawks, but they would hit harder and faster. They would also be a good bike counter.

So, yeah. How's my concept? Any thoughts?

Also @NoahWard I know that bikes are coming. But are Shining Spears completely off the table? Or are they a possibility?

Oh and for anyone who has their doubts...

Who doesn't want to do this?!

Um, Shining Spears were shown/talked about in the Path of the Eldar books, so they do have that to go off of, at the very least.

They have to go off TT/what GW says. Which OP isn't far off from.

Honestly excited for bikes, but worried about how they're implemented/restricted. And the Spears only add to that.

Yeah, well I was just saying we haven't seen them in Video Game form. Dawn of War doesn't have them. And I don't think Rites of War had them either.

Well, I think they would spawn the same way vehicles do. Just have like 10 or so per team.

MY biggest concern with them, is that will be used as suicide bombers for Dragons or Taxis for other classes. That's the problem.

I'm fairly pro for fire dragons taking jetbikes to get around the map on.

I just don't know if the maps/matches validate having a class dedicated to riding bikers around (like a predator/falcon without the staying power). I want them to, across all factions (love bikes, even before the TT meta shoved them down everyone's throat competitively) I just don't see it outside of those planned tank battle matches. And to spend resources on an entire shrine for something that isn't part of the core gameplay, I just don't know.

Well, they would be niche pick. Just like how you don't pick Dragons on Agnathio point B. Or how you don't go Swooping Hawks on interior fights.

I mean, if they have enough resources to add more chapters for Space Marines. They can add 1 class for Eldar.

    Mount and Blade.

    That is all.
