Secondary Fire Modes

    Sup guys,

I've looked around a bit but haven't been able to find an answer. Will secondary fire modes be implemented into the game? I often find that they add a new dimension to shooters. I know there are weapons [like the combi-guns] which would require a secondary fire function. However, will there be secondary fire modes for other guns [like bolters]?

    Thanks

  2. I like your idea but I don't know if 40k weapons do have alternative fire modes lol

It needn't be a secondary function of the weapon, but could be a variation of the primary fire mode. For example, a normal bolter could fire a short but accurate burst of fire. Maybe a secondary function could be unlocked by attaching a grenade launcher to the gun, in which case the bolter's default secondary fire mode would change to firing grenades.

  4. The only weapons that I know of as having secondary fire modes are Combi-Weapons. Though I don't think the Eldar have an equivalent.

As for other fire modes, they're usually ammo based or are akin to single-fire, burst-fire, and full auto-fire modes.

Stock Bolters in the Alpha footage have dual fire modes (Burst/Auto).

I'm trying to recall where I heard about attachments like underslung launchers (possibly in a stream) but anyway I'm pretty sure that's a thing too.

    Sweet, thanks!

Hmm np, the exact quote I'm looking for eludes me atm.

Here's one from Michael on Combis as Boltgun upgrades though ...

  8. Any weapon with the Rapid Fire characteristic in the TT is considered to be a semi-automatic weapon. So, they naturally have at least 2 firing modes.
Assault weapons are automatic, so they can have 2 or more firing modes.
Heavy weapons would have only 1 firing mode (the ammo makes much more difference here)

Automatic, sustained beam/volley or they just have enough spread that using them effectively doesn't require much concentration/skill (including some template weapons). In the case of Shotguns and Flamers they don't really need alt-fire modes. That said: Wouldn't hurt to have them though :)

In CS:GO a bunch of guys are trying to get the double-barreled shotgun to have an alt fire mode where both barrels are firing at once. Kinda makes sense
