Why are they not a class for SM. Quick agile sniper for SM? I kinda would like to play a scout class. has this been discussed?
The scouts discussion is not new, especially after apothecaries became a basic class...maybe we'll see them on a NPC role... What about Space Wolves? http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Wolf_Scout#.U9vVPGPq6ls Just a little balancing needed, compared to regular scouts... Now that I think of it...this is a possible option for Space Wolf 4th class...it's a normal, battle-hardened space marine, just on a different role and using scout armor...it could become an interesting alternative...
Sounds cool. But i have a feeling that space marine orders will be different only in colours and customisation....
I hope not, they should add traits that differentiate each one. Colors shouldn't be the only distinction
Incorrect. This was asked about a couple of livestreams ago and they said they're only going with four/five subfactions at launch because they want to get them right, right down to the intricate details. Stuff like the Space Wolves not having apothecaries (they use Wolf Priests instead) is going to be handled in-game, as well as the Red Thirst (as soon as they can figure out how to make it NOT a case of 'roll a new character').
Yes the Devs are taking the game very seriously for lore. So things like particular units being different for each subfaction will be a thing. Scouts WOULD be no exception. However sadly I did not have my question answered in the Livestream, I asked but they were not interested in answering at this time. Maybe down the road we will be able to see an answer to this and actually get a scout class. It would be a very awesome class to implement. I would feel cooler sniping as a scout than being a big ol' bulky ass marine firing with a stalker bolter. I understood the Stalker Bolter from Space Marine, and it was an ok weapon in that game. But I would kind of rather see a scout with a sniper, and stealth mechanics. Or a scout with a stalker, which is on the Table Top
Not in the least, actually. That's the exact opposite of how the devs said they want to implement meltaguns.
