I am requesting an actual roadmap for the future of this game. I want to know what the priorities are for the development team. Things like: When are mandiblasters coming? When will WYSIWYG be in it's final state? When will Eldar have multiple weapons for close combat classes? When will the tyranids start doing their job of "balancing" the factions? As I am typing this, I am looking up at the beautiful background art featuring more units that we don't have (farseers, terminators, wraithlords, dreadnaughts) than ones we do (a warlock, and some token space marines) and I want to know when that is going to be rectified.
THIS. This needs to be done, the devs carp on about transparency and all this rubbish but I have yet to see anything to give me an idea where this game is going.
A road map for development would be lovely, not necessarily exact times, but how long are bE going to devote to bug fixes over pushing new content. What content can we expect first, LSM/Eldar cosmetics/weapons, or are we expecting Terminators and equivalents? Additional MMO aspects (Map/bigger maps)? bE surely has a road map in house, it would be nice if they shared it with the community to actually get a vision of this 'fantasy' they are creating for us.
Precisely, nothing exact. I just want what has priority over what. New content? Bug fixes? Animation fixes?
This was one thing that kept Planetside alive for as long as it did until it got sold. Players could at least hold out and see what was coming up so they could check back. Ark: Survival Evolved has done a GREAT job on this one as well in regards to road maps. They have also more or less met their deadlines throughout the early access and continually add stuff to the game. The community has no sense of direction and is unsure what is even coming next. The other thing is that we want to see what is coming next in case its a bad idea and we can voice it. Optimizations, bug fixes, better servers and net code need to be the first thing. You can't have a game that doesn't run on people's computers. Then they can work on things like the melee, character movement touch ups, hit boxes, cover, balance, RNG progression, PvE, etc.
I would love to see a roadmap Whats in development Whats scheduled for development Whats on the wishlist for development that has no date or scheduled, things that are feasible. Moonshot goals for development...things that aren't even remotely possible yet but can be given enough development resources and when other more important things are done. The roadmap was one of my favorite dev side things about Planetside 2, as a player it actually made me more invested game time wise since I would keep playing to be "better" or more ready for even bigger and better features that I really liked. Vs just quitting the game and randomly checking in to see if there were any improvements.
Well, we'll eventually get a roadmap. Maybe one like this: https://www.eternalcrusade.com/news/480-State-Of-The-Crusade-IV Which of course will then become completely irrelevant within 3 months.
