Current Vet system is lackluster. Also, there was a huge opportunity missed for more flavor and asymmetrical gameplay, especially with how Orks could have been implemented. Instead we have your common Boy with huge healthpools and good Toughness. Basically everyone is already Nob, and the actual "Nob Veterans" aren't all that special, from what I gather. And they are just the same size as Boyz (for now... indefinitely)
Its funny how in the poll most as of now voted against. I think its lacking a "COOLDOWN RESPAWN" option. With like a minute cooldown if you so friggin wish. Of course INFINITE respawns shouldn't even be a thing, if you could just play Vet all the time we'd soon have half the players playing Vets exclusively, whats the fucking point in that? Vets are nice, but they get run over by vehicles, they get run over on spawn by spawning vehicles, they get plasmablasted to shits by both the enemy and the teammates, they get stuck in textures and fall off bridges for Christ's sakes, 2 spawns per match is USELESS. If it was, i dunno, a venerable dreadnought, or a crazy named character or some shit - yeah. But a vet with a 1400 LP limit? Might as well just remove the vet class alltogether
Vets should have just cost Requisition anyway. Once you unlock boxes you have nothing to spend it on. People are going to have metric shit tons of Requisition by the time the expansion rolls around.
Veteran should have infinity respawn BUT, with a cooldown. So you cannot just playing as a Veteran. If veteran doesn't have some spawn restriction then no one would be playing normal classes. But one life as a Veteran in a game that random explosions can kill you in one hit is definitely too low. Perhaps, make Veteran spawn coincide with capturing objectives or kill streaks.
Actually i got demoted when i realized that the 2 lifes veteran is the not so much shining endgame of EC, there are no other reasons into progress in advancements and collects supply packs.
How about the further your team is behind the more Vets you have? as a way to catch back up, and make it a closer game.
What a horrible idea. If there was a unlimited amount of lives to the veteran classes, why play anything else? Veterans would be the new standard. Veterans aren't supposed to be so powerful that they can single-handedly turn a battle around. That's what the hero classes are going to be for. The veteran is just your chance of fielding a slightly stronger standard class - a veteran. Keep it as it is.
Then what's wrong with letting people use the thing they put a lot of time and AP into if, as you say yourself, veterans really aren't strong? Seriously, people seem to forget that vets require rank 5 AND a crap-ton of AP to get. AP that could've been used unlocking things that aren't super restricted. Veterans are supposed to be a reward for dedication. Right now, they're really crappy rewards, as they can only be used 2-3 times a match, can still be 1-shot, and only survive about 3 more Bolter rounds. Be honest, does that sound rewarding AT ALL? Yes, people have hit rank 5 already, some even rank 6. But they're not the majority by far, and they've spent FAR more time playing than the average person.
That's actually quiet far from the truth as you can only have 1 single vet loadout meaning if you need to switch to AV or melee and you're a Vet tactical you're going to have to switch to a standard class. If we had a selection of 3-4 vet classes I could understand but as it stands we get to have only 1 equip at a time.
