    I've given the game a bit more time... and I won't anymore. I could accept the fact that many things are still in desperate need of a fix and won't just magically go away in a weekend, but the crucial thing is the latency. If half of my commands are lost on the way and actions that I'm mashing furiously never happen, the amount of fun in the game is exactly zero. I can't believe a game with such potential is such a goddamn mess. I'm gonna go away now before I start the verbal abuse, also going to recommend to the few friends I know that want the game to avoid it. By the Emperor words cannot convey the level of my disappointment

    Hi.

    Melee core RPS system is fine.

    Durability is the reason he is experiencing the problems he states, where using the RPS system still results in losses against heavier weapons like axe and maul, assuming he is playing tactical (which is likely due to the bolter complaints).

    As has been stated on multiple livestreams, they are currently in progress with looking at a durability revamp that is due to be included in the "December" content update. It is left to be seen what decisions they make, but this is the only issue with melee I can see and they are already adressing it.

    Also the lack of feedback on an actual hit is not a problem with the melee system, but a problem with the game's visuals/aesthetics. I completely agree that it could be better here, but this isn't a problem with the game mechanics or melee system.

    I'm not an unconditional defender of melee. I'm just someone who focuses a lot on the melee system and it's development, as well as someone who generally enjoys playing devils advocate. If there is a real problem with the melee system that has not been talked about or addressed, I am the first one to get a video on the forums about it. However, I do not accept "Melee is bad. Just waiting for fanboys to tell me i'm wrong" as a valid point of discussion. This, in no way, proves to me your point, so here I am telling you everything is alright with melee and everything that is a problem is currently being looked at by the development team.

    The Dbash bug thing with JPA's boosting out of the stun is there and there have been videos posted about it. If nothing is said about it, then that will be something that will have to be raised in force. This is a very specific issue, however, rather than just a general "melee is bad" like some people seem to want to crusade about.
  4. Out of curiosity, do you have a link to one of these videos. I'm interested in seeing this bug from the perspective of the person doing the Dbash.

    im quite sure they release soon a DLC gore EC! :| wtf.. im agreee with you, i never understand if i hit someone with melee.
  6. After last patch melee is slightly better.
    But JPA is still out of control: too mobile at almost no cost, it is neither less tough nor less offensive than a standard marine. It is basically a marine without bolter, moving at super speed and with AOE stun. And it can still evade out of stun with a magic button.

    @Silversage Welcome to the long war, this is nothing new, your very perceptive for only having picked up the game. A lot of us have been playing since day one and we have the same frustrations you do.

    Defensive Bash counters:

    Quick Attack
    Strong Attack in the wind up
    And itself

    So Dbash is the go to in all occasions. 9 times out of 10 gets you a guaranteed free hit

    Coming from the South West Pacific myself and constantly wading behind 200-500ms latency being shot down several feet after you get behind cover leaves us with a bad taste in our mouth.

    Patch Nov 30th and latency, Campaigns, December Content Update

    There is little consistency other than inconsistency. We cant really rely on skill and hard earn't battlefield knowledge.

    There is that one match a week however when the fates align and the weight of hundreds of milliseconds of lag are lifted and it feels like we are carving a swath of red ruin while the rest of the world is moving in slow motion.

    And it is beautiful.
