Range vs Melee is in a terrible state

  1. I see this the other way around: in tickets maps as attacker the first priority is to deplete defenders tickets: meaning kill them as fast and efficiently as possible. At the moment you don't do that with melee, at least not as Ork. If you want to win you must tell your team to play Shoota, Loota and maybe have 1 Painboy. All the rest is suboptimal: you don't fight hordes of marines nested on a cap point with Bolters using a sword.

    There was a long time when melee was too strong and alot of people got really upset, and that meta went on for too long .... they almost had it balanced they were so close before 1.3 .... then in 1.3 patch they made melee absolute garbage and added a ton of ranged damage to the game and a disproportionate amount to LSM via the servo and stalker bolter .... they have been slowly tweakin melee back in the right direction ... its just hard to notice ... but if you experimented in first 1.3 era patch melee is much better than it was then even already after two small patches .. i have faith it will continue to get better just be patient freaking out is what got us 1.3 patch wich was way too much of a meta shift .... i want melee fixed too my favorite class is JPA but they need to touch it a little at a time any big changes and we will be right back where we started.

    try the mercury pattern its ew ..... in close range the mercury pattern is basically a boltgun ....

    Just pointing that out.

    That and this sounds like a potential bug would be you can't bash someone with low health, which wouldn't be fair either. If I wear down the enemy to low health and dbash sucessfully I don't want him immediately free to keep swinging, or worse, never even stops.

    so 1v1 except of the dbash melt their face away (change weapons to pistol automatically, or extend the time to be ready to shoot again could bring balance into it) good players will dodge the dbash tho, melee is in good balance against ranged, with impact mods knifes break so easily. besides that 1v1 is melee favoured with out it being unfair

    the thing is melee units will just get shreeded by outside forces who shoot in the fight.

    with jpa or shieldbro you get into your melee fights quit reliable and the iframes keep you alive as jpa (not fun for the guys shooting and getting hitmarker but inflict no damage) better than the extra armor does for the shield bro. the thing is melee combat takes considerably longer than ranged that means more sooner than later you are dead. only fix suggestion I read was ranged damage reduction while you are in a melee fight. (this would fix the dbash melt the face too)

    for races or classes with out a shield damn bros I dont know how you get into melee vs an enemy is playing def
  6. I actually play a decent amount of melee on Ork, which is easily the worst melee faction in the game. Basically the best way I've found to win is to ambush and then when someone reacts you act like you're going to use your sword, but instead you shoot them in the face with your pistol while they try to Dbash you. It's actually far more effective to rely on your ranged weapon than your (theoretically) strengthened melee weapon.

    one of my mains is melee, 9/10 rounds ill end up first place. I can beat powerfist users with nothing by my fang of morkai because I undestand the combat system and visual ques. Alot of people have trouble grasping melee for years here so seeing as how you are new I do not blame you. That being said I have no issue with melee or ranged.

    If you engage me in melee if im ranged ill kill you(all i need is a combat knife)

    If you engage me in melee if im melee ill really kill you,

    there is a big skill gap when it comes to melee and take both practice and time as well as a good eye for visual ques when engaged.

    If you are ranged you should be able to kill ranged/ counter melee always if you cant you are doing something wrong.

    If you are melee and cannot beat ranged when you close in for melee you are doing something wrong.

    Lots of people say melee needs work but as long as their are veterans like me who make melee look simpler than counting to 3 it would be a lie to say melee needs work. I will say players need work though because the system is extremely simple and easy to grasp if you arent running the game on a crap pc and have good eye sight.

    30-40+ kills in melee as a WolfPriest wielding Fang Of Morkai as a melee weap. This happens to me more often than not. Melee is not broken people just dont get it cause its not something they can just button mash in.

    The onyl current bug/issue that melee has which needs to be fixed is the ability for a player to roll away from or jet pack out of a stun which like i have said many times seems to be a glitch or latency issue. When this is fixed it will be fine. or maybe I should say once everyone gets better it will be fine. When i get into melee with enemies I can practically sip tea with one hand and still beat them down. Why does you average dude suck at melee? I wish i knew.

    I only surround myself with players who understand the melee. Which is why I formed a guild of players who understand every aspect of the game and melee is one of the most important. We been engaged in melee since 2015 we know what we talking about and if you dont believe our words believe our scores when we in game.

    Claiming melee is broken is like claiming a car doesnt start, then someone with the key comes along and starts the car. You needed the key all along, that was your problem.

    30-40+ kills and first in place when playing with ur guild or soloing? cause when I play I do 30-40 averange too when going with my guild but solo with less good players I can slay way better even reaching nearly 80kills. Do you have gameplay somewhere? I am interested in improving my melee or to be more precise how to stay alive in a 1v2+ cause with ranged thats easy but on melee I always feel I am fucked

    100s of gigs of videos but i dont have any posted online. the majority of my guild is local and we use our vids to compare and or laugh when we get together.

    As far as helping you in melee I would be glad to you can always add me on steam my name is 6th- FIREston we can always swap melee advice and you can always tag along to play with my guildies when we play(we are a small tight, invite only guild with 10 players atm but 10 players that all pull their weight). Always looking for new battle brothers.

    And yes I get 30-40s when im with my guild, they too do well usually following me in 2nd-5th place.

    Good job on getting 80 kills, you are definately one of the better players.

    As far as my videos go I havent really had use to upload them on youtube as I get a large influx of newly added friends on steam thanks to this game. Its alot easier to talk to them and show them in person or play side by side to learn where they need to improve. You are not the first to ask for videos though and maybe it is something I will look into doing but I usually work till midnights and then just spend the free time I have playing with guildies and friends. I never record with posting in mind, I record every match of every game I play as a reference tool to better myself and the guildies.
