Yesterday, another of my childhood heroes died. Only now, after finally letting it sink in, can I finally find the words to say to pay tribute to him. Rik Mayall was one of the most talented and funny men I've ever seen. He was an important part of my TV diet growing up, and his blend of anarchic, alternative comedy helped mold me into the person I am today (although it's debatable as to whether or not that's a good thing ) You helped bring joy and humor into my life, and helped me through some of my darkest times. You were a comic genius, and you wore a moustache in a way few other men can. If you, Chuck Norris, and Gerard Butler had ever met face-to-face, I am certain a hole would have been torn in the fabric of the universe from the sheer quantity of undiluted manliness. Rest In Peace, Richard Michael "Rik" Mayall. May you fly your kite into the heavens one last time to the halls of your fathers and know rest, knowing that you left a wonderful comedy legacy behind you that will not be forgotten. I'll be sure to raise a pint of Bombardier in toast of your memory. WOOF, WOOF!! BANG ON!!
Watched 'Young Ones' a lot during my childhood (british heritage does that for you) and was a huge fan. He will be missed
Havent watched/listened to him or...even heard of him.Tho i consolidate your loss and feel your sorrow. He will be recorded in the Temple of All Knowledge so he would not be forgotten. Once again you have my sympathy!
Absolutely gutted, far more than I feel that I should be. It's like the world has one less mirth generator now.
The news says they don't know what killed him yet...Though it was likely that head injury he suffered a few years back. These things sometimes take a while to do damage.
