I've notcied people on here saying that if you are FTP you will be playing as a Orc now..personly i hate them Xenos filth and id rather sacrifice my self to Khorne than play as one, Soo is it true?.. Second question!... As a Battle brother of the Angels Sanguine, being able to play as my founding Astarties Legion sounds awesome but will i be able to be just plainly a Angel Sanguine, or will i simpley have to be a Blood Angel, because..Angels sanguine..well have given in every so slightly to the Red thirst and the Black rage..also will that be a Mechanic for the Blood angels!? cause ya know..would be bad ass.
To question 1 , free to play = Ork Boy Question 2 = as far as I have read from the dev posts, the 4 chapters that have been decided and 1 to be voted on by the community. So a tiny chance for the chapter you like. No option for recolouring your armour to match your fav Chapter at launch. Someone please correct me if what i have written is wrong
be vocal. Bring others to your side. It seems devs listen and care. You may even convince me it shouldnt be minotaurs (because they can be their own faction if they want)
Personly forcing some one to play an Orc is rather B.S and that will keep more players away imo, although i could be wrong but forcing some one to play a race in any game because they do not have the funds to buy the packs required for them to say play a Chaos marine even if its only going to be £5.00 its still a bit unfair on the people who cant pay to play they're favorite race/Class, now as the Chapter skins that doesnt bother me, although id like to run around as a Angel Sanguine. but still Blocking people from playing other races if they dont PTP is technically a PTW route imo, but i am just a small voice in this sea of Heracy..Alas id like to see it change and to be able to buy cosmetic skins not the option to be a SM or a CSM or even a cursed Eldar.
I prefer to think of the Ork Boyz as more of a "demo" or "trial" than true "free to play". It's just that instead of time-limited (ie a 30-day trial) it's content-limited (you play the trial as long as you want, but only get to try one class on one race).
well if they were to go down that route why not make it PTP? and give that 30day free trial, instead of going "hey..40k fans who cant afford to pay to play your favorite race/army..f**k you and play a orc boy.." but thats the way i feel about this as ive played more than enough failures of mmo's that went either PTP/FTP with mirco-transactions, i just dont wanna see a 40k game shoot its self in the foor with a bolt round before its even learnt how to walk, if they made it so you had say...either the ultramarines or the blood angels as a start chapter and you had to buy the other skins i mean that can include all chapters aswell but i guess they are doing the current chapters for story purposes which then leads me to see them going the SWTOR route with it all "buy races...Buy weapon skins xp boosts...rep boosts..instance keys." ect Ect.
You buy the game, and all the races are unlocked, with the option to spend money on a cash shop (NOT pay to win, has decorative items and such). Think of it as buying a simple videogame for the X-box, or PC, rather than a subscription based game like WoW. Personally, I loved the idea of what the devs are doing. It means that there will be a lot more orks for us to battle. And honestly, who would get into 40k without buying anything? I mean the Black Library books are expensive, the different videogames are expensive (ok, maybe not the older ones like Firewarrior, Final Liberation, 1st DoW etc....) the tabletop game is expensive, all of 40k involves spending money! I am not sure how anyone gets into 40k without spending money!
I 100% agree with you, I was under the impression that this was totally free to play ect surviving off Micro transactions, if its got a £50-£100 price tag on it im buying it (£100 for the..special edition..ya know..give dat thunder hammer) if it is a £50 title my fear of it being like SWTOR are gone..means i dont have to tocuh scummy orcs, and yes Warhammer is all about spending money, but as a MMORPG game i am so glad to see that it is going down the GW2 route of a Flat payment with cosmetic micro transaction i still hope they are reasonably priced unlike the table top .
