The beam powers still feel a bit wonky when they're targeting - healing, jinx, ect. I'm not sure how you're implementing them but they still tend to "jam" or get stuck not healing or applying an ailment to a target even while holding the mouse down on a target. They work a lot better than they used to, but I just wanted to make sure you're aware that it still feels really bad to see jinx light up on my hand but not connect to a guy standing in an open field in front of me let alone trying to snag Assaults flying around when I can see my reticle clearly glowing red the whole time. I'm sure it's a similar story for the other races.
I always have to double click (and sometimes triple click) to save downed allies and that is always disconcerting.
Seems to be the same problem with SoC and has been for a while now. Sometimes it won't target, sometimes it will. Fickle things these physic powers..
The problem is that theres like a internal cooldown on starting up psychic powers. Try it out, cast a power then stop it, then try starting it up again. You will notice that for the first 1-2 seconds the power doesent respond (aka internal cooldown) and then starts up normally. This is ofc horrible for healing because by the time the 2 secs pass your allied target is already out of your aiming reticle, and you start healing yourself. I mentioned it to Brent in the Game Design thread so they are aware of it, just hoping it wont take ages to fix. Same goes for offensive powers like the Stream of Corruption ofc, which is why its hard to land it allot of times on moving targets.
Psyker powers in general are very confusing and very frustrating to work with. The problem starts with the targeting crosshairs being ultra tiny and not really helping out that much as far as helping out the caster as to whats going on with his/her spells, not knowing if you actually have someone targeted, not knowing if your spells are actually effecting enemies, not knowing which spelled your scroller landed on without taking your eyes off screen and looking at that tiny little icon down in the bottom right hand corner of your screen, not remembering which spell you have up, or if your pistol is up, shooting allies instead of healing allies because you have your pistol in hand but you thought you scrolled to your heal spell, not knowing if you're almost OOM or if your'e totally OOM until you're totally OOM. Suggestions to remedy said woes and frustrations: 1. A sound and icon for each spell as you're scrolling through your spells and your pistol. Above your head the icon shows and you hear an associated chime. For the pistol for instance above your head you see a pistol icon momentarily and you also hear a "click clack" of a round being chambered in a pistol. If you accidentally scroll really fast the only sound and icon you hear are associated with the spell or weapon you land on. 2. Crosshairs. Informative crosshairs that you can actually see at all times. A special crosshairs for each spell you have up. This goes along with #1 listed above. A special crosshair for each type of spell, and a totally separate crosshairs for your pistol. This way no accidental shooting of players you want to heal because when you see your healing crosshairs, it looks 150% different than your pistol crosshairs. 3. Status effect icons(like suppression) above friendly and enemy heads for HOT and DoTs. Status effect icons that fills up and drains down. 4. If there's a cooldown for psyker abilities that's by design, give us something on screen that shows us our cooldown status for psyker abilities. So instead of pushing a button and nothing happening and us wondering if our keyboard is broken, if we have the wrong spell slotted, if we are out of many, if we are about to CTD, we know that we're simply on a cooldown. 5. Mana bar opposite of the STamina bar on the left side of our character. The mana bar starts flashing when we get to 25% mana and a chime plays. At 5% the chime plays again twice and the mana bar flashes very fast and/or much brighter. At 0% mana or out of mana(OOM) we hear a very distinct sound and the mana bar is glowing hot.
