It is the dawn of the 42nd millenium. The Imperium of Mankind is beset from all directions by its enemies, the greatest of which is its own corruption and ignorance. One of enemy in particular has proven to be particularly difficult to deal with, in spite of its relative size. The Tau Empire's armies, led by the elusive Commander Shadowsun, have been having their way with the Imperial forces on the Eastern Fringe. The Fal'Shian Hunter Cadre Shi'ur, fresh from its campaign against Imperial forces in the Dovar System, has been given a new task after their exemplary performance during the campaign. Its new task is to assist Ethereal Aun'Zil in his mission. The mission is to seek the peaceful cooperation of the nearby Imperial system of Renault. The System is well known to be hot spot for rebellious (or in the Imperium's terms "heretical") activity. Aun'Zil, a protege of Ethereal Aun'Shi, has been assigned his first solo task to incorporate the system into the Tau Empire with as little bloodshed as possible. A variety of advisors from all four castes have gone with the Ethereal to assist in his mission. Aun'Zil, flanked by a single Shas'la Fire Warrior, marches down a hallway towards the prison cells. His rich purple robes flow behind as he walks down, the guards instinctually saluting and standing slightly taller as he walks by, an honour blade tapping out a rhythm on the floor that perfectly matches his pace. He stops at one cell in particular, and turns towards the human in the cell. "Suve, please unlock the cell so that we may speak with the prisoner in a more...private location." In the barracks room of the ship, a new recruit (Draal) has just been assigned to first squad, led by Shas'Ui Se'hen (same squad as Suve as well). He is instructed to proceed immediately to the training room. A nearby Pathfinder (Jirel) appears to be heading out as he walks in.
< @MetalDog4 > Shas'la Fal'Shi Jirel Tes'rey glances at the others as he leaves the barracks, moving to report to the training room as ordered. He wondered what he would be learning this time. Personally, he hoped for more scouting practice. He was never one to seek personal glory, only needing to support his cadre. Not that recognition was anything bad, of course. His rail rifle was slung across his back. He was taller and sleeker than most, with green eyes and neck-length red hair. As he arrived at the training room, he looked around for who had called him.
<Suve> "At once. " Almost as drone like in action as response the Fire Warrior slips from his rigid stance alongside Aun'zil he punches in a rapid series of symbols onto a small key pad set aside on the left wall flanking the cell. Pulse Rifle is drawn and set toward the cell entrance while armored shoulder is placed forward to guard himself whom in turn would act as shield against any raving attacks the prisoner might launch against the Ethereal behind him. Lacking any grasp of Imperial Gothic he leaves communicating to Aun'zil.
The Human was leaning on the wall of his cell, with a device in his mouth that let out some kind of thick white smoke. One hand was in his thick Black Coat's pockets and his head seemed to be looking up, while his other hand was fidgeting with his Red Tie that laid on top of his Black Carapace armor. Thinking of what is to come. Some "Greater Good". Drag me off my world, take my weapons, take my freedom! And I agreed with all of it. Why not? I'm an expert at making Wrong decisions. The stupid blue...things. They give me a pop gun, a maul, and some armor then ship me off first class in this prison cell to Emperor knows where. Basically my usefulness had to be anywhere from Space Janitor to Meatshield. The latter not sounding too bad as of now. They must of had some thing that he even needed some kind of weapons, if you could call them that. Enough trust to let me carry a weapon, but not enough that they lock me in a cell. The Tau were certainly no Imperium. When the...Blue alien arrived, he dropped the Lho-stick on the ground and stomped on it, putting it out. Oh, yeah. They also gave him a Pack of Lho sticks for the journey. How kind of them... Coming off the wall, the human waited for who ever was coming to greet him. Both of his hands up to show he wasn't trying to harm him. There was reason too anyway.
OOC: Deran, Aun'Zil is an Ethereal, water caste start with Por. < @DeranVendar and @Xaphen > Aun'Zil stepped into the cell, honour blade held loosely in his hand. "Fio, you have been nothing but a headache, inciting rebellion across several Gue'vesa realms in an attempt to return them to the Imperium, sabotaging Earth Caste efforts to improve quality of life across those same worlds. By rights we should have executed you long ago. We didn't, and now your...particular skill sets are in need. That is why you are armed. Now, if you want, you can come with us to a meeting room and discuss the mission, or we'll put you on an escape pod with enough supplies for two weeks and launch you at the planet we're orbiting, which currently is host to an ork population we use for training. The decision is yours." He turned back towards Suve: "Suve, if he wishes to join us on the mission, bring him to the meeting room in 2 hours, and get him some decent food first. If not, escort him to the escape pods and launch him to the planet." The Ethereal turned and left down the hallway, leaving Suve and Fio alone in the cell. < @Vulpas @BadDo9 and @IyandenCorsair > The mercenaries were milling about the training room as a Shas'Vre called attention in the training room. "We will beginning the training exercises as soon as the last of the participants get here. So mercs, take this opportunity to familiarize yourself with those you'll be fighting alongside."
< @Vulpas @IyandenCorsair @MetalDog4 > Jirel looked around. He was never good with beginning conversations with new acquaintances, so instead he walked to a wall, leaning against it and making calibrations on his rail rifle. He kept his body language open, though. He wasn't opposed to talking, he was just awkward.
< @Vulpas @BadDo9 @MetalDog4 > It was his first assignment and he couldn't be more excited. He was even being placed in Shas'ui Se'hen's squad. He had heard of her exploits and being placed in her squad he couldn't help feel some sense of honor in that. The mission itself? Made that zeal inside him well with pride, they were even going to be accompanied by an /ethereal./ Things couldn't be better for the young recruit. Draal made it into the training room just as the Shas'vre called them to attention. He stood upright, plasma rifle slung over his shoulder currently as his red eyes scanned about the room. It was definitely not the most uniformed bunch, but that was to be expected out of mercenaries. He spotted one other Shas'la though. As they were dismissed he witnessed as they went to one of the walls, he decided to follow, giving a small wave as he approached. His voice was strong and confident as it carried throughout the room. "Greetings fellow Shas'la."
<Suve> "As the Greater Good demands Ethereal. " Bowing his head to Aun'zil as he stepped away Suve lowered his pulse rifle to a more 'casual' stance simply staring at Fio awaiting his own call on the situation, the Fire Warrior was but a glorified baby sitter right now, as the Greater Good asked of him to be.
< @IyandenCorsair > Jirel looked over the one who approached him, grinning shyly. "Greetings. I am Shas'la Fal'Shi Jirel Tes'rey, pathfinder... but you can call me Jirel. Much simpler to remember." His voice was soft, the opposite of the one who was speaking to him. He placed the butt of his rifle on the ground, holding out his hand to shake.
< @BadDo9 > Draal returned the grin, from how confident he looked he could probably be mistaken for someone who's had a bit more experience in combat than he really did. He reached out and shook Jirel's hand with a strong grip. "Good to meet you, I'm Shas'la Fal'shi Draal." a pause. "Draal for short. It looks like we're going to be working together now."
