I do agree with you mainly and I don't disagree with guilds / clans. If they added an option for a person to follow from a friends list it accomplishes the same teamwork without all the attacks on solo players. Because a group of friends can do the same as a clan / guild. My clan from socom was top 5 on the ladders, we won 2 GB tournies and an Urgent Fury invite only tourney. But the over riding factor was always no trash and bash when we did wind up playing in rooms as a clan. It was not allowed and if you did it you were gone. Remember if you drive new people away with hostile bs this game as others will disappear before it even takes off.
Your no excuses bit is dumb and shows your not interested in other arguments, because you know excuses... So do you take direction from others in pugs on the battlefield? Well what about all the other LSM pugs? Because I can tell you that playing the last 3 days of the Campaign for LSM was nothing short of brutal. Why am I and many other punished because so many Refuse to use teamwork? Why do we have to suffer over and over and over with players that just don't get it? Cheating? Really? That's what you call intelligent problem solving? So we should all just dumb down our game play, run in random directions and shoot each other in the back, cause you know, we have to much armor already and shooting your gun at anything is cool. Excuses. People of modern society should be more inclined to socialize, and work with others, but I'm finding today attitudes are more about being selfish first.
I don't know whether you've misunderstood the idea of the thread, but your anecdote is irrelevant. The complaints regarding PuG's vs premades usually encompasses 1 mostly full premade team vs PuGs, not just a small group on one team. The complaints are not about some conceived notion of people with clan tags being automatically better than a non-tag player, the complaints come from premades typically having superior communication and coordination which allows premades to stomp on PuGs who don't have the tools to communicate or coordinate in game, provided that premade isn't utterly useless. Premades also typically don't face things like language barriers which can hamper a team's capability dramatically. Yes there are times when PuG's can stomp premades but this isn't an acceptable basis to justify full premade teams being matched against PuG's because of a few instances where it happened previously. "It's not outright impossible therefore it's acceptable!".
Premade vs pug is simply easymode Yet usually many guilds/groups talk about looking for challenge (this is not a phenomenon exclusive to this game) These guys are nothing more than lamers That said, I have no problem with premade vs premade
Hate games that your are stomped over and over and over... past few days felt like that... today not so much. I think new players are filtering in to the other races. still see a lot of players being nasty to newplayers on there team most "clan" games that have mostly clan members on the other side go horrid but they normaly dont say much apart from EZ and GG at the end. so in ways can be nicer than the usal salt we see lol.
Today I had a fun game of stomping on premades with pugs. That was jolly good fun! Now I just need to wait another 50 games for that to happen again. I'll never have problems with people working together, or this so-called "pre-mades" thing. When a bunch of chaps are running around in a squad of say six or seven people, yeah they're in it for the laugh and fun same as you so let them roam free like the happy critters they are. Now when there's 10+ more of them. Woo-boy... that's when you've gotta just sigh, lean back and half-heartedly shoot back and wait as all three capture points are taken in under three minutes and the long line of: LSM 1: GG LSM 2: GG LSM 3: GG LSM 4: GG LSM 5: GG Salty Ork Guy: FU LSM 6: GG ........ LSM 1925235: GG
@Shivan I agree. Although I believe the assumption/opinion that the game is designed for people to center their efforts on one faction might not align with some of the things I've seen developers say. Can't remember where, but I do seem to recall a dev comment about campaigns to the effect of it being one of their goals to get players to play all factions instead of the notion of exclusive loyalty. I suspect the idea of strong factional loyalty is more of a community driven idea than a design aim of the game itself. I just thing it's worth considering that aim of the development staff too. That potential distinction/clarification doesn't really detract from anything of your other positions and examples though. IMO good stuff
bad options / not really the right questions - guilds / premades are good yes playing against one in a non voip game is difficult at best, in EC organisation / teamwork RULE without these its almost a single player shooter with good (or bad) AI. premades / guilds should be limited to the size they can make a war party and be against an equally sized enemy to 'hopefully' balance the teams but as said with such a low player base this would be difficult to do plus the fact that some factions are weighted with guilds match times / finding games could / would increase, bit of a shame imo seeing as this is supposed to be a team game with strategies and plans ... 1 semi fix would be getting VOIP back asap but then people have to have it active and listen to rough instructions / warning etc otherwise its back to a single player shooter. either way this topic has been beaten to death many times with zero response from the devs except the big 'clan' fights on their own maps.
I welcome this solution. It's the Sun Tsu of trolling "Where the defeat is a certainty, deny your enemy the spoils of war and conserve your forces for more favourable battles.". In this instance "spoils" being anything more than token capture XP and the pleasure of killing anyone.
I feel like asking for a cap in the game is the exact opposite of what PuGs should be asking for. They should be asking for larger and larger battles and larger and larger areas.
