You are Jeffery Bullen, 3rd son of Lord James Bullen. As a 3rd son , you were in training to become a knight, until your uncle, Lord of Koperkaliam Keep on the point of Phewhoreshann, died. He perished in a massive storm that came from the sea, while trying to protect the village. Unexpectedly you inherit his land, as he himself a 3rd son, ordered that when he perishes you were to be the inheritor. You travel to Phewhoreshann, a small point on the far eastern side of Telestoria and arrive to find a surprisingly well kept keep, with a mere 100 peasants, 2 village root cellars, 5 men-at arms, and 3 advisors.

    Land Assets:
    - 3 plots of turnips (give .3 food per month)
    - 3 plots of cabbage (give .3 food per month)
    - 1 small fishing boat (think traditional, holds one person)
    - 1 medium boat (think cutter, holds 4 people)
    - 1 caravel beached and in a state of disrepair
    - 1 colossal wrecked ship on the point
    - what appears to be a wrecked light house
    - 1 large royal cellar
    - 1 small wharf
    - Ocean and all its problems

    Armoury and Treasury:
    - 7 gold pieces
    - 20 lumber axes
    - 2 bows

    People Assets:
    - 100 peasants
    - 2 village root cellars
    - 5 Men-at-arms
    - 1 Men-at-arms Sherrif

    Advisors:
    - Thaddius Magaillion: A trader/merchant when someone arrives in the village to trade with. He also performs a more managerial job when the peasants need organizing. He moved here to see the ocean and stayed because he seen the potential in your uncle.
    - Thog Fish-Tickler: An orc that is astoundingly good at fishing and pretty much nothing else. Most say that your Uncle kept him as a pet even though he provides a large supply of food for the village. He is a master of catching all seafood.
    - Stzoo Son: Rather skilled military strategist, but was removed from his position because he cared too much for his soldiers and tried to keep too many of them alive. He was moved here because he could still defend the shore and would have no power.

The month is Preporod: You arrive, and are coronated in a rather unimportant ceremony. Thaddius asks how you wish to organize your peasants.

A random event will occur each monthFood: 1 unit = feeds 5 peasants fully .5 unit = feeds 1 lord fully
If someone is not fully feed at the end of the month it is not good
Secrets are everywhere and can either provide benefits, or lore.
Only one peasant can work a farm plot
    The year has 15 months

    OOC: this should be right

1.Send two men of arms and a sheriff to investigate the wrecked ship and lighthouse and report back on what they see.
2.Get fog to train 5 of the peasants in the art of fishery
3.Ask stzoo about the caravel and if the miltary would be interested in buying it once restored
4.Send 20 Peasants out to gather wood
5.6 Peasants tending all the Plots
6.Send the two most experienced men off to hunt with the bows and give them another peasant each to set snares and clean the kills etc. (Four peasants off hunting)
7.Get stzoo to train up 10 more peasants up to militia.
8.Send another party of the remaining 3 militia off with thaddus to try and find another village and give them a gold coin with which to buy a map or food.
    (Seems to be about everything)

I am a bit more passive this time, letting the newbies have a bit fun. Though do what orky said just with these additions:

#1 look for hidden things and secret entrances and stuff in our keep - ho ho ho!

#2 take whatever free peasants (unassigned by Orky) and order them to make more plots.

For your first month you have Thaddius arrange the peasants so that all the plots are fully worked and . 20 peasants are to chop wood and Thog is to take train 5 peasants how to fish. Thog trains one quickly on the personal fishing craft because it is so simple, the other 4 he takes with him on the boat. The sheriff and 2 men-at-arms are sent off to investigate the wreckages. Thaddius is told to take one gold piece and the remaining men-at-arms and go to the nearest village to see if he can buy a map or food, this take 2 months. 2 Teams of peasant are sent out hunting as hunting and trapping pairs. You ask if Stzoo if he can train 10 peasants to become militia and if the caravel were to be repaired would the military buy it? Lastly you have the remaining 61 peasants to dig out new plots for planting.

This month 4 people come of working age and one old fart kicks the bucket. You start to hear that there is famine because all plants are rotting heavily as soon as they are picked. This month fishing yields a measly .7 food in total, but all the peasants get more proficient at it. The crop plots only yield .6 food in total this month. The Wood cutters come gather 180 units of wood but learn nothing this month. The sheriff reports back that one is most certainly a light house, but the other one escapes words. It is just too big to define, yes there are things that look like they could be used as weapons but not as many as one would expect for a ship that size. Hunting yields 4.2 food and the first team to go out becomes a little bit better. While the 10 peasants do become better at fighting at hand to hand they will need much more training. Stzoo tells you that there is no Navy so of ports will buy the boat, but we could certainly put it to good use. The peasants make 3 new plots and the third one has been started. You take this first month to learn the village and try to find and secrets hidden in and around you keep. Unfortunately you find absolutely nothing. Everyone in the village is suffering from minor starvation this is dangerous and unfortunate, though the weather was nice for this time of year.

    Results of the month:
    - pop. 103
    - 5 fishers lvl 2
    - 2 hunting pairs lvl 1 and 2
    - 10 militia in training lvl 1 HtH
    - 20 wood choppers lvl 1
    - 180 wood
    - food Not enough its a famine

use the wood for build a workshop called "FisherOrc's Friends" for now a small building is sufficentwith two rooms one as magazine and one as a kitchen where cooking and and salt the fish so can be stored and traded. Old people and women can work in the workshop with less risk for their life. Thaddius Magaillion can be the trader for the fish and Thog Fish-Tickler will be the one to decide what fish is better for the buisness.
We need a "chef" for organize the cooks in the kitchen

I'm not sure thats too good an idea right now, we couldn't really feed our peasants last month so selling food is not an option in my view. First we should use some of that wood to build more fishing boats, once we can produce too much food then we can sell it.
  9. Grigdusher Grigdusher Arch-Cardinal

in the worst case we can store the fish and canning it for bad times.

+1 on what griggy says! BUT!

use only 100 of that wood for the restauraunt; use the other 80 wood for boats! (have 15 build on boats; the other 15 on restaurant)

Assign all peasants as before; except:
    10 more hunters.
(leftover peasants more plots and take care of all plots; damn femine!! But once it's over we have awesome fields!)

Oh and ask: What's the ship made out of? Just wood or is even a mighty steamboat?!

And then back to looking in attic and basement for secrets!
