As an Eldar primary I feel qualified to say that Fire Dragon shouldn't have a default loadout at all. It's something we should have to sacrifice in order to obtain. Barring that we give all other factions an additional default loadout of similar value. From there we can decide whether or not melta is truly the issue or simply the fact one faction has a dedicated anti-vehicle option always available to them while the others don't. My money is on the fact Eldar have a way of erasing vehicles by default while the other factions are stuck deploying a tank if no one has anti-vehicle options available. Honestly, it's a very poor design choice to force three factions to dedicate a custom loadout for anti-vehicle while another has a free loadout for it. I won't get into the topic of Reaper Launcher too much, but having a not shit ranged anti-vehicle option that doubles as anti-infantry is also a plus.

  2. Thats exactly it, the fire dragon isnt ridiculous its simply that Eldar have access to it right of the bat as a default loadout. The fire dragon isnt any more powerful than a tactical with a melta gun and melta bomb, its just that its always there for the picking where as the other 3 factions have to spend alot of Advancement points and tokens to unlock the weapon and melta bomb. Pair that with the mobility and infantry smooshing advantage of the eldars transport and Its a very deadly early game option.

Eldar privilege is unfortunately a thing right now.

  4. The problem is that there is a discrepancy in the time that you take to kill a vehicle with the other AV option of close range. This is the powerklaw/fist, and it takes 12 seconds to actually kill the vehicle. But a melta alone can do my job 3 times faster, and is hard to retaliate to that (because I need to charge my power attack, most of the time I can be killed in the middle of it, or interrupted with a melee attack, instead when you have a melta, you can go full suicide, plant your bomb and unleash you melta. Of course, you can make the argument that melee can stop you, but the thing is that fire dragons are a bit more faster).

Thats my only problem really, and also that you can NEVER attack with the fist/klaw a moving eldar vehicle. It just imposible, and sometimes I get killed by lone vehicles because the sides do damage to me.

    Agree.

But actually, what almost every player does is A, so meltas are a huge problem and the vehicle use is not optimal.

So, what if instead of meltas beign the problem, the problem is in our use of the vehicles? B is much more optimal in the actual meta :)

PS: just removing the melta grenade from the fire dragon preset will fix a lot of problems, as to optimize you will need to use a custom loadout.
  6. Yes, but that will always be the case with one faction or the other. Eldar will get balanced and then Orks or SM or Chaos will be privilaged.

Wasn't the plan with loadouts to make it so you can only use the 5 you select for the battle, including any pre-sets you choose to take, rather than having the pre-sets on top of the 5?

If pre-sets took up a loadout space, and we were all limited to 5, it would make players think tactically about what to take and what to sacrifice.
  8. If that was the original plan it wasnt how BeHavior executed it. I believe as of right now Eldar have a preset for all 7 classes plus 5 custom.

If we only had 5 slots for a battle, which included custom and pre-set, we probably wouldn't have so many issues.

Op suggestion would litteraly screw orks over so bad they'd stop using trukks lol. Thos things are so hard to drive right now that once you get it where you want it you just flee the damn thing in disgust.
