Following after the group Commissar Dalimond kept watch on each member of the group in turn with one another while keeping vigil of his surroundings where suitable, the condition of the chapel interior before now was a complete unknown but if the building could be deemed secure for Imperial forces to move back in that would be sufficient for this mere reconnaissance force.
<Chapel> Inside you hear nothing but the faint moving of small creatures. Dead Sisters of Battle, leading through the main halls once you enter the Main Chapel. It is more grim than outside the sisters are hung by their entrails, raped sisters and priests the floor is a blood of dried and slimy blood leading to the alter that has been moved and leading down stairs. Beth can not contain her vomit and throws up on her assistant and Jakob the Catachan has thrown up as well. But the Commissar pulls you all together and makes you put re-breathers on so you can not smell this place but it still smells but not as bad. The Emperor statute is fallen over and been smashed to bits... But the Alter stairs are the only clean part of the room.
Janice looks around at the disgusting area, clearly resistant to such visuals. She tilts her head before she frowns slightly "Requesting to purge the chapel of this morale diminishing scene" She holds her flamer up, readying to burn the disgusting corpses.
Irmina holds her rifle loosely as she takes in the horrific scene before her. She had seen worse... But not by much. She gave a curt nod to Janice, "Burn away kid, it's what they would have wanted.." She walked away and began looking at the stairs leading to the altar. It was quite strange for it to be the only place not covered in gore.
Janice gives a short nod, she then aims the flamer and with a roar sets the gore ablaze. A strong foul stench fills the chapel as the burning flesh quickly crumbles to ash. Janice don't seem phased by this either, seemingly something a medic would be used to. She continues to burn Untill the corpses have all dissapeared into plumes of smoke
Luther looked for stairs up to get a lay of the land. He seemed like he had his blinders on in reference to the gore. He still had his rebreather on but otherwise ignored the scene. His expression was flat and serious. This scene was bad but didn't give them any answers they were looking for.
The initial sight of the room had regrettably made Jakob vomit with the rest of the guardsmen. All of his training could never had prepared him for that sight. he immediately put his respirator on with the rest of the group at least the horrid smells of gore and bodily fluids were gone but the sight of the scene still turns his stomach. He made a quick hand gesture as a prayer to the emperor and followed Irmina to the clean altar his Heavy stubbed raised. "Whoever did this were monsters beyond my comprehension. We are not fighting normal rebels are we?" He paused for a moment and answered his own question."No normal human beings can't do something like this to one another." He stared at the medic burn the corpses he wasn't going to show any compassion for the monsters that did this.
Janice don't make a face as she finishes the last of the gore "It was humans doing this, no doupt... But no humans that are loyal to the emperor. The stench of heretics is strong" Despite her rank as a medic was Janice quite faverous with her belief in the emperor. During her time, even if a bit short, had some of the guardsmen working with her almost compared her to a commissar or a sister of battle in her strong faith and determination.
"The Archenemy's handiwork, only ones capable of doing something this twisted." Irmina growled as she worked with Jakob to try and clean the altar. "And with a dead Space Marine and slaughtered Sisters... Well, it might be more than just cultists. Catachan, take Krieg and watch the entrance, kill anything that looks alive." She said coldly, her trigger finger itching for revenge.
<Chapel basement> The halls are filled with nothing just plain bloody boot steps and silence other than your talking. Then you hear the chatter of voices and mutter not its not its chanting. You all charge to the seen and their are Cultists praying above a box with a Thousands Sons Sorcerer standing with his staff over seeing the operation if one fails his chant he becomes ash and takes his place. The Thousand sons looks you all and gives you a warm welcome his. You weapons to not be able to fire. "Welcome friends. You are the ones to kill me no? I have foreseen it and to stop me. I am Lord Amaudus... But if you kill me now you will have two chapters of space marines at your door. So lose this place and die for nothing, or I can take my leave you destroy the box that is controlling your soldiers. What will it be friends. But your systems life and your peoples lives are in your hands... " His voice echoes into your very souls and chills your body. OOC: You have two choices that will shape the campaign- Choice A. Kill Amadaus, and have 2,000+ Astartes lose your system to the last man... Maybe Choice B. Let Amadaus, go destroy the box and put the end to the fighting to kill him at a later date
