It's easy to tell the OP weapons on the battlefield, everyone uses them. gone are swarms of HB to be reloaced by PC. this holds true for all weapons. want to see what's OP? see what there are more of on battlefield.
Not at all surprising this is coming from the OP as he was vehemently opposed to adding suppression to the PC (yes, it is currently immune).http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/weapons-immune-to-suppression.58125/ There is a reason you are seeing more and more players use it in matches as the simple truth is the PC is quite easy to use. You see players using it with a disproportionate number of kills and scores because of this. The "charge juggling" is enabling players to quickly peak corners and fire at the feet of a player or group of players instagibbing them. Because they are immune to suppression you cannot alter their ability to aim (something every other ranged weapon user is made to deal with). I am OK with the direct hit damage (lets face it, none of them are skilled enough to actually land a direct hit with any regularity), but the splash dmg needs to be reduced , the "charge juggling" should be less effective and either increase the charge time or reduce the damage on lower level charges.
The lore argument is such a low hanging fruit. If we're going by that metric the ork faction shouldn't even exist since there's no way a boy is going to be able to go toe-to-toe with Astartes, Space Marines should be forced to stay in squads with only their own Chapter and Ultramarines should be forced to spend the entire game lecturing their fellow marines about why only having about a quarter the team playing as tac marines is against the Codex.
Not to mention Eldar would be even faster and deadlier. Lore should be a launch point for mechanics and intended role, nothing more. It should look and handle like the weapon, not necessarily hit as hard as the weapon.
Oh, you're a "lore" person. Your post literally doesn't say anything other then it's fine because I said so and that anyone who disagrees with me is wrong. You don't provide any real metrics, why should I? In fact the only thing of note that you said was that it was hard to use... Which I guess it might be for you, but really it isn't. You hold m1, you release, print exp. It's boring for everyone involved, especially when you start to include corner peeking, lines of sight on points from extreme distances, the amount of time it take to actually cap a point, and over all ttk after you factor in things like accuracy and rolling that turn one shot kills into even more egregious factors. You really don't sacrifice enough to get the ability to one shot kill a group of people. The second you get someone who is actually mildly competent at the game they essentially become a incontestable god of destruction where the best outcome the attacker can hope for is for them to suicide and take you with them, and then sub 20 seconds later they respawn and do it some more. The fact that it doesn't even leave you on the ground to be picked up by healers is even more laughable. Also, grenades are fine if you are not dropping them at you feet before you die. The further you throw them the less amount of time the enemy gets to dodge. Reasonable would be increasing the charge significantly, making it kill only on direct hits, or just neutering it completely because spammable aoe weapons are dumb. Hell just look at its power compared to the heavy bolters, if that is the baseline for a heavy weapon. It is not just slightly better. Or even 100lp better. Its far more lethal to an absurd level.
Yeah all I'm reading here are opinions. It's not my job to prove what's already in the game and working shouldn't be changed. YOU are demanding something be changed so YOU get to provide the evidence and reasoning behind a change. Don't go demanding change when all you can do is puke all over your keyboard with opinion after opinion. The only thing I've read in this thread that was a reasonable change was to suggest increasing the charge time or causing an overheat to damage the shooter. That's it. The rest is a bunch of shitters crying about being one shot. This thread should be closed, as all discussion has boiled down to tears and bitching.
