Hey boyz, I have been waiting a long time for Orks to finally arrive, but I'm not up to date with how they are being implemented, and what the Orks are going to be all about now. So I'll break it down into a list, anything you can answer is really appreciated. 1. Will Orks be more numerous than the other races still, or is every race balanced with the same amount of players? 2. Will you be able to grow into a Nob? Or is there any form of Ork hierarchy going to be involved with this game (clan Leader can be a larger Boss)? 3. Will there be more diverse heavier armor ? Right now all the boyz look pretty basic (I realize they just got implemented). 4. Any word if there will be Wartraks, and other vehicles? 5. Will there be a Mekboy class? 6. Will there ever be Gretchins or Squigs to have as an accessory piece to your character? Those are my most pressing questions for now. Cheers!
1. Orks are intended to be balanced 1:1 against the other groups, and see the same numbers and spawn timers as their opposition (currently, anyway). 2. Not clear at the moment. Nobs might wind up being an elite or hero class. Warboss will almost certainly be available to the player warlords, but who that will be and how that'll be implemented isn't clear yet. Somebody who pays more attention during the stream Q&A might be able to help more on this one. 3. Visual changes from Armor equipment and Wargear is still planned, I think, in addition to purely cosmetic visual armor customization. Sluggas and Shootas are going to get shoulder paldrons by default to make them look less "naked". 4. At launch, we only get transport, tank, and artillery-anti-gate-thing, which will be the standard across all four races. Post launch is a hazy realm of terminators and open worlds, so it's hard to say what might come. I don't have any new information for 5 and 6.
Hey, thanks a lot for the reply. I'm still disappointed there isn't a Free2WAAAGH! mechanic anymore, and that standard boyz are going to 1v1 Space Marines. I so wanted to play a Nob and boss around the boyz, and crush some tin'can uumiez. Orks should be more numerous than other races, but I understand why they didn't do this. I'll have to read up on the latest about hero classes, but are those going to just be like Star Wars: Battlefront, where heroes become temporary playable classes you can use? Or is it something you achieve, and unlock permanently? Hopefully the latter. "Warboss will almost certainly be available to the player warlords" This was very unexpected, but very awesome that this will happen. Other than that, things are sounding pretty solid, from what we know anyhow.
I think they said the boss will be picked at the start of a match when it gets added. It will provide a team buff of some kind possibly while up but killing it will debuff the orks. Ofcourse that is all subject to change. Gretchin and squigs probably won't make it in until much later if they ever get added in some form. Mekboy is another idea they are either working on or tossing around still. I think they want engineer classes across the board but it isn't a priority it sounds like.
An Ork Mekboy, with some Team Fortress like auto-turrets, ammo dispensers, teleportaz etc would really be amazingly fun and orky. Shokk-attack Gun we be the most hilarious, and scary weapon in the game as well I'm really excited to see how the Boss will look and fight. We just need Nobz as well though.
They are kinda like Battlefront, but not really. In EC, you have to unlock them once through the progression. (different ones). Then there will be some mechanic ingame that allows you to use them. Not sure what it is, maybe simply 2 times per match? Maybe 5 minutes cooldown? Maybe (but probably not) awareded for something you do (killstreak/capture a point/heal/damage whatever), but I would think they want everyone to get their turn. So yeah. It's also a bit complicated and unclear what exactly it will be. Because there are Veterans for SM (or Exarchs for Eldar, I guess Nobs for Ork), those will simply have more loudoutpoints, and I guess a distinguishable look. So you can take the biggest armor, and the biggest Choppa. Then we have Elites, which are special classes like the Ranger for Eldar, or the sneaky commando for the Orks. These would assumably cost more to bring then Veterans/be rarer. Then we have Heroes, like the Farseer or for Orks if I remember correctly a Boss? These are supposed to be really rare, and powerfull (maybe closest to Battlefront levels?), and not everyone can spawn as them every game. I think the Warlord may be this ingame. Or he can grant the power to spawn as an Hero as a Warlordpower? I expected a system like Planetside 2, where you have Requisition points, and you can spend them on all kinds of stuff, like more grenades or special equipments, or Veterans, or Elites, or Vehicles. Then you could for example always be a veteran, but never spawn an Elite or Vehicles if you wanted. But who knows what they will go with? I heard something about Tokens? (But I am worried, because it would be stupid if you could save tokens in one match, and use them in another) Maybe they just go with Cooldowns?
sorry just noticed the last bit, tokens are actualy going to be for asquiring vcertain bits of wargear and mods among other things not to purchase the special units in battle, thats going to be the sorta ingame currency theyve said
