Orkz dont feel like Orkz in my opinion.

    In my opinion the Orkz we have in this game are nowhere near the orkz i always imagine. I don't see Orkz as these incredibly durable enemies for cheap, or with extremely powerful guns. I see them as, for lack of a better term I guess, a rush army with versatility.

    Let's think about that. orkz dont get the toughest armor (that would probably be the marines or something) or the toughest Health/toughness (probably nurgle boys), they dont get the best melee (that's probably Khorne Marines) they don't get the best ranged (thats tau obviously), they don't get the best Artillery (Imperial Guard), and hell, they dont even get the best numbers (again IG or the Bugs).
    What they DO bring however is SOMETHING for those said roles, while they don't have the best damage for melee or ranged they at least have something to equal it for cheap, but in a weaker state, and funny enough in a larger quantity.
    in short imagine for every regiment of marines, orkz got 2 regiments, 1v1 the marines will win but when you bring that extra cheap unit the tide DRASTICALLY chages to the greenskins favor.
    for an example with ranged, while they wont outshoot a tau walker, they can atleast probably bring 2+ walkers for the same price together to take that tau walker down (hopefully).
    they don't get the IG artillery/tanks but they DO get grot cannons and the occasional tanks in cheaper number.
    they don't have Khorne Champions but they definitely get quite a number of Nobs.
    and so on an so on. Basically, whatever the ENEMY is good at? the orkz normally have something like it to, just not as good but cheaper, weaker, and more of. And because of this are very good in rush games because of well, the weak+rather high numbers of trait.

    anyway, with all that said i wish that was implemented into EC. Now granted i know we cant most of the numbers bit because of this game at the moment but i do think the rest could maybe still apply. I don't think ork shootas should be the best unless there's one scenario, and that's when its 2 shootas vs one bolter/shuriken. BUT you could fix it by instead adding the cheaper but weaker aspect, everything the orkz get is cheaper then the other factions equivalent, kannons for cannons, shootas for bolters, choppas for swords, you name it! the counter is they're weaker duh! this would mean every single orkz COULD build to do anything! you want to be like the nurgle boyz? put on some health and toughness, your not AS TOUGH but your certainly tougher than before! you want to klub in melee like them khorne boyz!? bring a bigger choppa and some red paint and you'll basically be one of them! you want to be like them basic 'umies and bombard dem gitz from far away!? DA KANNON IZ FER YOU! and this goes on so that, while we cant get the numbers of orkz, we can get their versatility.
    as the for the OTHER bit of the rush part, the actual rush! thats easy! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!! seriously waaagh does so much for boyz and it could do so much more, make it a squad thing that the squad leader needs to start and needs his boyz to jump in on! OR make it a 30 second passive that kicks in every 2-5 minutes i dunno! WAAAAAGH!!! in my opinion should be more common, now if more common means it's weaker than sure make it weaker but it SHOULD be common.

    I'm probably forgetting things i wanted to add to this but its getting rather long as it is. So I'm going to stop here. Let me know what you guys think, and how you feel about the orkz in EC as well!
    (yes i know i may have said "cheaper but weaker" alot but i honestly could think of a better term)

    Weren't they at some point in time working on a burn card system ?
    Waargh was gonna be a ability that could be used mid battle by like a warlord class or something .. it sounded pretty sweet but with everything devs ever showed us ( vehicle map, new vehicles, terminators, wrath guard, workshop etc etc)
    It kinda just disappeared of the rader never to be mentioned again....

    You have a tiny oversight here: If you just took a shoota and make it 'weaker but cheaper', all you actually accomplish is freeing more LP for EHP-stacking.

    Whereas a lot of their weapons are really good, what really characterizes Orks is their insane durability without healers. Now, you can argue that it shouldn't be like that lorewise or also that it's OP but it does one thing well and that is enabling the Ork-playstyle: Rush the enemy in numbers, overwhelm them by brute force. Orks are about the only faction that can reliably just charge a defended point and push the defender off it.

    1. clone current ork gameplay to new race
    2. bring back Squats, reskin, rename, remake everything cloned to become the glorious space dwarves
    3. Eternal crusade becomes truely immortal as the returning point of squats into wh40k universe
    4. literally swim in money as an natural result
    5. use money to create new orky gameplay for orks
    6. get even more money cause there is now proper orks, and you got squats on top of it
    7. do whatever you want after that point cause you will have more than you can possibly care about

    Well, problem would be to get the approval for that....IF it would pass through, though, it is so weird it is bound to work somehow.

    I remember back when orks weren't even a race that this was the hot topic of the century. The general consensus was that making orks weaker than the other factions would lead to bolter porn and would cause the ork player base to leave. DLB was very vocal about that.

    I get what your saying and I think in a perfect conditions it would be possible, I think I even suggested a mechanic back in the day similar to what your suggesting.

    For every 3 regular orks they get a special slot for a runty ork, gretchin, or squig hound that can be filled by anyone checking a slot when queuing that they wouldn't mind playing them.

    Captures the feeling of orks being a mixed zerg rush horde while allowing regular gameplay for those who don't want to bother with cannon fodder.

    Some of it free2waaagh some of it how an ork could be the equivalent to a space marine (skarboy.)

    Back when we had Brent, Noah, and regular twitch streams. Back when everyone was excited for the game.
