We've had this discussion about a hundred times I think. We Orks generally agreed that while it would be interesting to be a horde faction with reduced health but no also respawn timer, we all felt it would play too much into the bolter-porn fantasies of most Space Marine players (especially those who actually played the game Space Marine). It also doesn't fit with the beginning lore of the game, what with the Orks present supposedly being hardened veterans of a dozen campaigns. And the devs are resisting bots in this game like nobody's business, at least until they can get latency and that crap corrected.
Not gonna lie it was totaly the bolter porn fantasy that made me ask. But i do think the way teams would be organised in that senario wouldbe intresting, teamplay for both sides would have to be tight knit for them to be sucsessful.
I can be your mob class, give me instant respawns all match and I'll gretchin mob the hell out of anything.
Not really but teams sometimes come together in a defense or attack. Fortress maps were a little better at making people work together. Mostly due to nessesaty more than anything else. On garrison maps you can just rambo and still win.
That would require for the LSM faction not to comprise over 50% of the entire game's population while orks barely reached over 10%. Right now there are literally 5 LSM for every ork.
Someone had an idea where orks could have dakka mode instead of aiming where you shoot faster with infinite bullets but super inaccurate. Other orks doing the same thing makes you shoot faster all together. Melee orks probably should get a waagh shout that makes them take less damage for each ork that waaghs.
Wut if'n wen enuff orkz use dakka near each uvva' dey don't consume ammo da next toim dey reload if'n dey emptied dere entire clips in one go? As in dey neva' took toim ta' fire in spurts and wut 'ave ye, dey jus' unloaded da entire clip
By now I'm not sure. The majority of beginners have settled in as LSM or simply left the game altogether. It might accomplish something if the devs start an advertising-campaign and then relaunch the game as truly F2P where all the other races are arbitrarily locked off besides orks. That easily might have the simple effect of just turning people away from trying the game altogether, seeing as Orks seem to have the lowest mainstream-appeal by far. And if it works, orks would be flooded with newbies, which in itself wouldn't be bad, but a lot of the older players would be painfully reminded of the dev's promises that the xeno-races will not be relegated to bolter-fodder, creating a lot of unrest in the existing playerbase (if the devs even cared about that). The only positive I could see might be in the long run: Having a higher population might warrant more attention from the devs, finally leading to the fixing of the numerous problems we have as a faction. But that would take time, as the devs seem content to just gather data for weeks and months on end.
