Orks need more time behind the scenes of development.

  1. After playing for a while. it feels like orks need a bit more tinker time.


    I wanted to enjoy the faction. Gork knows i did, but man...how did you make a faction more clunky than the space marines lol? Dig the looks of the orks of course. However no matter what loadout i made, i cannot do 1v1 on any SM or eldar. be it range or melee. its the strangest thing. It feels like everything is slowed down due to the actual animation. Orks make these grand telegraphed swings with melee, Eldar pop in and jab u twice in the middle of the animation and your already dead.

    I know its the first non-founders iteration, but im curious if its like this now with the orks. how it got past the founders testing and bug reporting. Or was it an entirely different experience?

    Orks spent very little time in founders only mode. I feel they might've been rushed out to appease the fans and get all 4 factions on the table. While they were not in the ork subforum had gone quiet and orks on the forums overall kind of disappeared. They were brought in to bring players back which they did. But yeah Orks are pretty unpolished right now. Though powa choppa fast atack spam generally works well our D-bash might as well not exist anything thats not a loota gun is firing paper clips and our vehicles die to standard bolter/shuriken fire. We are heavily unpolished and thoroughly underpowered but we were implemented recently and next patch i think we get sheilds and powa klaws which might change things around. Also the heavy bolter needs a nerf

    Who care's? Early Access. It won't matter by launch anyway. But I get it's frustrating.

    I havn't had any real issues in 1v1 against another melee class. All about how ya play. Rolling is your friend here, but roll to the side, and keep your lock onto the target. First thing I do is open with a heavy attack - 9 times out of 10, that is the finisher right there. They get a stagger, then i follow it with 2 quick attacks and they are usually down. If, somehow, they get in a d-bash, we recover much quicker now, so I roll to the side, then follow it up with a heavy attack.

    Doesn't always work, but my slugga is normally in the top 5 for kills.

    Maybe they didn't. Maybe there weren,t enough players in matches on founder server to properly test ork efficiency. In a one to one duel situation they can handle their own because of melee with axe choppa.

    The early access is best to test the overall impact of a faction in a gameplay situation. Founder server is mainly to find stuff that is clearly clearly broken and not working as intended. Not so much for balance and overall faction power. They may try changes on founder server, but the real test for balance is always on early access. In 30 vs 30 matches, on different maps rotation, to get more stats of win vs loss according to varying parameters.

    As for bugs/animation/clunkyness etc. I think it was known but they still needed to acquire data on orks So they launched so they could get data while fixing some animations and getting peoples impressions all at the same time.

    About the vehicles: if we can spawn more vehicles and they remain the fastest vehicles I think that lower durability is a fair trade. So if our vehicles spawning ends up matching other factions I'll be disappointed.

    Also we need bikes or buggies! Orks are known for always being able to field vehicles quickly if they have the resources, and from what I've seen Arkhona isn't exactly lacking in parts.

    That could be a major force multiplier and help with the green tide effect, having trucks with REALLY LOW cooldown so we can spam them (while still being less armored than a rhino), so that we are capable of always getting in a fight FAST.

    And indeed, bike and buggies would be very nice. A kind of warbuggy like DOW that shoots rokkits would be nice :D

    Open-topped trukks too, plox! So da boyz can shoot out! Woodn't want'em gettin' bored on da ride, now, wood we?

    Wouldn't mind some auto firing gretchin on the bigger vehicles that auto target enemies. Give them pathetic damage so it becomes more about annoyance and noise :p
