To negate some of that "they will be easy to target" sensibility I'm sure the Larger ork will of course have the innate "stats" like Hp or armor that will take care of that. Not to mention, your not going to see 1 large ork alone on the battlefield. you have to wade through a legion of them...all actively trying to kill you. I think people might make it more of a issue than it would actually be ingame. In a smaller game-space the concern is very legitimate, but were are talking massive numbers here. Its just isn't going to be that easy with so much madness going on. We ave to tell whoz da warboss! Who else is gonna direct the waaagh?
I agree. Tha orkz shud get bigga. Otherwise they would be little. No one likes little orks. Who here likes little orcs? Casuals.
Orkz shud get bigga the more humie skullz they eat. No question! And animations can stay exactly the same, just render the model larger by scaling it %wise. Hitboxes also increase %wise.
I feel Orkz should grow with kills, but shrink with deaths. So the bigger and badder ones are the honestly good Players. It's my genuine belief nothing should be 'handed' to you but earned. I know I'm reviving a possibly long dead post.
Orks get bigga. Tusks grow bigga. Trophee raks get betta. Gear gets flasha. Iz da way I fink progreshun wurks in dis.
The most plausible way to implement this, that I can think of, would be to limit this kind of function to specific elite classes or a warlord, like nobs or a warboss. The devs are probably right and making all orks able to do this would be very difficult and far too time consuming for such a small feature (in comparison to the functionality of the whole game). But maybe limiting it to one or two specific classes (probably elites and/or warlords) would make it not as much work and actually possible. The class could be like a nob or something than gets larger and darker as it kills enemies (with melee kills granting more significant bonuses than ranged kills), accumulating stacking buffs to their HP, move speed, and melee damage (up to a reasonable cap, so that the player doesn't become unreasonably powerful and difficult to kill and too large to maneuver on the map). Once he dies, though, all of these stacking benefits are reset to zero and must be built up again. I doubt this'll be in anytime soon, but I can dream.
The nice thing about Orks is that they not only grow in power as they get larger but in speed as well. They have to compensate for the increased bulk of muscle tissue to keep the same (albeit terrible) ballistic skill, and melee skill. I'm not sure how I feel about Ork players getting crazy buffs based upon killstreak. Especially because this might lead to serious griefing, and complaining about said griefing by LSM and other faction. The idea seems like a good one, but imagine what a person would do once they become nigh unstoppable green killing machine. The mind boggles at such power. And the ease at which it could be exploited to make the game unfair and thus less enjoyable for people playing is To Damn High!
