Orks Iz For Growin!

  1. I wonder, as an ork player continues to fight and gain skill. Will they grow in stature? Not just socially but physically? As we all know the warboss (and the lot just under him) are the biggest and the stompiest! Would be nice to tell who the Orkish badass is on the battlefield just at a glance, because he'll be the one towering over everyone else.

Prefer my leadaz have a little more than a different color hat lol.

That's actually a good idea, I don't plan to play Orks ...but that would be like a cool progression thing where new players start of smaller and more "experienced" players would be taller.

I think it was on Warhammer Online? Where if you are playing a choppa and the more rage you have the bigger you would become
  3. Seems the most logical thing to do. It is lore accurate, and would be easy as pie to implement in the game. figure "why not?"

I'd prefer it had to do with their social status. If leader of a squad, they're made a bit bigger. Leader of a Strike Force, bigger still. Leader of the faction, go ahead and put on some stilts or something.
  5. Yeah but the Strike Commander will be off the battlefield, i wana see my Warboss infront of me!

Bear in mind that'd we'd all just naturally shoot the biggest ork we see

I disagree; If I was a strike commander, I'd use my bigger height to shoot over the heads of other Orkzes. More points for me.

A dev say a growing ork create HUGE problem with animation, it's possibile doing but the amount of work ir's really big .
  8. where did you read that?

I think it would be kind of cool / sucky here's y because it would make it super easy to see the leader and they would be able to bash through barriers and such but no cover and bigger target WAAAAAAAAGH
  10. ashlander Subordinate

Easily negated by having a large boss given benefits for attracting attention. Everyone knows the best way to stop a Waaagh! is to cut off the head of the snake, so I think a good counter-measure to completely negating ork leadership in a surgical strike (which is what should happen anyway) is to maybe design a system that rewards the Nob or Warboss for drawing attention and getting hit.

I believe in the DoW2 Retribution game the Warboss has a similar mechanic? After a certain amount of damage taken he can perform a charge manoeuvre or something... maybe it was the chaos warlord though. I might be mixing these up.
