Ork Nerf Predictions

    Kannon will be nerfed to not 1-hit and keep everything else unchanged, it'll simply be a shittier Plasma Cannon.
    A good number of people on this very board wanted this, so it's not that far-fetched.

    You mean a good number of salty space marines who spammed plasma cannon and the pretended the ability to shoot off 3 blasts before overheating compared to a 4 second reload time. Or the melta gun back when a quick space marine (didn't have to be sneaky as they would just respawn to try again immediately) could turn a vehicle to scrap in less than 5 seconds.

    A good number of LSM also thought the PC was BS, even the template double tapping PC now.
    Plus other factions having problems still does not justify the kannon being overpowered in any way.

    I'd prefer yer solushun, but iv dey kan't figure dat out, I wouldn't moind dem stream-linin' da fing a bit az well. For da longest time I fought dat da lil frag dat comes out when ya just tap on da trigga wuz a bug. Seems awright ta me ta let dat replace da charged up mortar shot, so dat da lil frag mortar iz da mode for krumpin' gitz, and make da straight shot a lil bit moar wobbly, and not as splashy. Keep dat mode for krumpin' trukkz and da loike.

    I think you have to understand that a lot of this probably comes from playerbase bitterness over Orks being a broken (in the bad way) faction for the longest time with one of the only consistently "good" guns that they've had for ages, the Kannon, potentially being taken away from them.
    And even then it was considered mediocre for most of it's implementation till recently.
    Shit I still remember back when you couldn't reload on railings or when it just exploded randomly in your face because it accidentally clipped something (oh wait it still does that).

    Also I want to mention that it's sort of interesting that only now is when people are complaining about the Kannon being OP.
    Like even post-Plasmageddon nobody was really talking about it for the months that followed, with the Kannoneers that stuck with it ironically getting softbuffed as a result.
    Maybe it's just now getting noticed due to a combination of RMB-spam-tier melee getting a kick in the knees, TTK being the lowest it's been in years, more players joining due to F2P who didn't experience Plasmageddon firsthand, and etc etc.

    I love the kannon to bitz since it just feels and sounds like a damn monster to use but even I understand that it needs rebalancing following the major gameplay changes in recent months.
    How far bH will swing the bat around this time though I don't know.

    As a fan of the Kannon since it was put out (what's a Freeboota without a kannon?), I myself have been amazed at the amount of salt it generates NOW as opposed to the past several months since it was implemented. And you're right, we Orks are pretty sore that one of the few solid weapons we've been given is getting salted on more than anything right now. It's annoying, especially because all people complain about is it's OHK potential from long range. Those people never take into accounts the drawbacks of the weapon, and I guarantee the majority of those people have never used the Kannon and experienced those shortcomings. I'll agree that the shot travel time needs to be toned down so people can see the shot, and a thick smoke trail so you can see where the shot came from. But ultimately it's the OHK potential of the weapon that generates all the salt. People just don't think they should die to a high-explosive shot detonating 2 feet from them, which I don't understand in the slightest.

    Could you explain how the kannon is overpowered? Is it the slow projectile speed (not even looking at the mortar travel time, I think average time for a round to land in that is....6 seconds at a reasonable distance?) ? Is it the obvious particle effect? Is it the 4 second reload time? Is it the mortar traveling in a direction other than straight in front of you the issue?

    Reload and cool down I find reasonable, and I wanted bE to remove the plasma cannon's double tapping.
