I have been reading up on titan fall and they are putting in a cool mechanic in there game where they have npc boots in battle. there just there to beef up the numbers in on-line play and give you the seance that you are a god of war. I think that having some npc imperial garde, chaos cultists, ork gretchin and eldar guardian(?) to boost numbers on top of the 500+ real players will just make it more epic.
Haha where there's a will there's a way Would have to be limited in some way i think, or balanced vs regular population Pretty sure i read somewhere from the Dev's that they do not want to have NPC's (speaking in reference to the 'nids) in PvP (large) battles because the server(?) would have to take power away from generating players/battle effects to render the NPC's/AI
I was thinking along the lines of heath re-gen if they are going to have exactions. low on heath? kill the little guy
As in the Space Marine Campaign mode of regaining health? Execution move? I have a bad feeling about how that would mesh in a PvP primary game. Unless you could gain health off players too. But we dont know any health/armour/regen info yet, so hard to say. I dont think i would like it.
Is fink Putin in lotz of boyz/cultists/guardians/scouts wud be right proppa! MORE THINGZ TA SHOOT! DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA!
Pvp = player vs player npc = no playable character To boost numbers to more of 500 players per faction in battle? the servers are gonna die, my graphics cards is gonna die.
Except Keep Lord and some guard, every other pnj in rvr is a fail. ( Ofc I don't speak about the Tyranids )
Maybe purely as a defence role? So base defence NPCs. So a base gets attacked and there are just a handful of actual players there. What happens the base gets overrun but it means a force is sitting around doing nothing for an age because of the capture time. So how about an NPC army that 'holds the line' (or at least puts up a bit of a fight) until it starts fading out and getting replaced by actual players as they start getting drawn into the battle. It would of course stand little chance against an organised army but it would stop the sensation of just waiting around. And give the whole 'god of war' thing credence because they're pretty easy to overrun.
