The history of Arkhona is pretty established, after all there have been human there for tens of thousands of years, so new, native indigenous races is pretty unlikely. You can check this article from a while back to learn more: http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/954/feature/9040/A-First-Look-at-Arkhona.html T (Yes, this was another example of shameless self-indulgence)
The World Eaters fought the Slaugth in the Great Crusade and they are still around... And there are dozens of species in the Tau-, Calixis- and Koronus-regions. The assault of the Dragon Warriors on Nocturne contained xenos-mercenaries from 3 different species. And Inquisitor Ravenor saw several xenos-mercenaries while travelling the galactic rim. My favorites are the Hrud. I think it would be really nice to fight in a collapsing space-time while dark mists materialize from the shadows and hack at you with poisoned claws... And don't forget that the Hrud have plasma-fusils.
I didn't mean Every species of Xenos, I meant native Xenos living on Arkhona. Tureilim said the Great Crusade Era most likely wiped out all the Xenos On Arkhona. Sorry for the mistake. And also Hrud would be crazy. I believe they rendered a whole chapter dead, after a large migration. Could be cool if it was a limited time event or something. Perhaps Halloween or something with permanent darkness for three days or something. Mysterious Hrud appearing everywhere.
It would be cool, but I dont think it will work game wise. Unless they have like, dead carcases and bones. And you can find their skins that you can wear on your armor.
Do you mean Hrud or generally other Xenos? Also wear the skins and bones? Sounds like Salamanders! I wouldn't mind having the skull of something looking like a Firedrake on my shoulderpad! *Cough* *Cough* Vulkan... *Cough*
That would be terrifying. I remember reading they clawed up Blood Angels in large "empty" trees and feed on them. Eventually Space Marines hanging around everywhere, with their insides eaten...
"The flying clades made off, taking nine of the Astartes with them. They were heading in the direction of the white blobs in the far thickets. Tarvitz didn’t need to give an order. The remaining warriors took off across the ground as fast as they could, chasing after the retreating dots. They caught up with them at the far edge of the clearing. The white blobs had indeed been more trees, three of them, and now Lucius discovered they had a purpose after all. The bodies of the taken Astartes were impaled upon the thorns of the trees, rammed onto the stone spikes, their armoured shapes skewered into place, allowing the winged megarachnid to feed upon them. The creatures, their wings now stilled and quiet and extended, long and slender, out behind their bodies like bars of stained glass, were crawling over the stone trees, gnawing and biting, using their hooked head crests to break open thorn-pinned armour to get at the meat within. Tarvitz and the others came to a halt and watched in sick dismay. Blood was dripping from the white thorns and streaming down the squat, chalky trunks. Their brothers were not alone amongst the thorns. Other cadavers hung there, rotten and rendered down to bone and dry gristle. Pieces of red armour plate hung from the reduced bodies, or littered the ground at the foot of the trees. At last, they had found out what had happened to the Blood Angels." --- Excerpt of Horus Rising, p. 202, by Dan Abnett.
Horrifying, but actually.. Quite cool. Would make for wonderfull gameplay. Just imagine seeing that in-game. The combat with Megarachnids could be sweet aswell. Afterall, they were never truly annihilated after the Interex or something like that intervened the decimation of the Megarachnids. They look scary and dangerous aswell, but sadly they might be abit too much like the Tyranids.
