New dbash animations are awful

Yeah, I know what you mean, but that was the closest I could describe to how I imagine an Eldar should move. They should be graceful, but without any wasted motion. If that's not how ninja move, then I'm misunderstanding them hugely.

Since I play striking scorpion almost exclusively, I can vouch that the current DBash doesn't work too great. The initial stun works fantastic! But then I try to right click and get a fast attack in, but my guy is still stuck in his DBash animation and follows up with a light damage hit. Problem is the enemy has already rolled away or hit me before I have a chance to hit him, and I'm frantically clicking RMB and praying to Khaine I can hit them first.

The other races DBash and can usually pummel me pretty quick after. Sometimes if they make a mistake and don't capitalize right away I can roll away, but 3/4 of the time I'm dead if I get dbashed. Especially by power fist and axe marines, crosius', ork Choppa, etc.

I thought the old one was fantastic. I loved roundhouse kicking people in the face.

Wish they'd explain these types changes at least.

Maybe it was easier making a new animation then speeding up the old one to eliminate the delay?

Doesn't the new animation complete faster? That was a problem with the old one. By the time it was done the enemy was almost recovered or if they had dodged during your parry they could kill you before you were allowed to react.

I remember no delays with the old animations, really, it looked quite nice and suitable for Eldar close-combat style - a bit acrobatic and yet realistic, albeit it could be made just a little faster but nevertheless in whole it was nice.

Instead they make this "up and down" swinging kick (really, how is a light-armoured Eldar whose physical frame is much more fragile than that of a space marine can STOMP into the ground an Astartes with his/her leg? Their sheer physical strength is inferior to that of space marines, this is obvious, and thus in a real combat such dbash looks absurdly). Roundhouse kick is stiffened as well, look how it's performed in any other fighting game and compare its animations with those in EC.

I dont understand why they spend money and time to change these animations - obviously it requires new mock-up sessions, programming and modelling, all of these anew to implement new animations. Better to direct these resources at, say, long-expected elites, Eldar cosmetics (REAL cosmetics, not just recoloring), Eldar high-tier weapons etc., pretty much to do for spending their resources. Again, I really dont remember someone complaining of old animations - many want to see elites, weapons, maps, modes etc., not a single word of Eldar dbash animations....

There was an issue indeed when Striking Scorpions performed dbashes faster than other classes, that I remember, but eventually its speed was fine and they could simply fix its speed and make it equal for all Eldar classes (apart from Reapers, of course)

There was a 1 second delay on shooting for the old Dbash.

    Two points to make.
First are you a white wolf player?
Second ninja are bullshit. Watch Ame Agaru (think US title is after the rain) a Japanese movie about a lone samouraï and his wife. Few fighting scenes but that's what you can call no mouvement waste. Could be perfect for Eldar. At least some of them.

Yep, though that particular name came from Vampire The Masquerade: Redemption (videogame set in the same world).

There's a scene from Curse of the Golden Flower when the ninja are running through a valley or something and the way they move is exactly what I see in my mind's eye when I think of Eldar moving.
