The sad part about these posts is the devs have/are already sitting around a table in a dark room thinking these exact same things and are are wondering how to make them viable. How can we nerf eldar to the point where they can't win unless played flawlessly, the enemy team playing horribly, and somehow convince the eldar population that they deserve it? We won't nerf them at all! We will BUFF every other race with new weapons, equipment skins and higher EHP! That we don't directly nerf eldar, so they won't complain too much, but everyone else is happy. Cause that's worked so far...right? I used to be afraid of the nerf bat, and was genuinely upset the last EHP nerf. But I don't care anymore. I will slay monkeigh with a handicap or not. What i find amusing is any other faction wearing a challenge token to make the game harder now knows what it's like to be an eldar player everyday. An eldar using a challenge token is a Man walking among ants.
Honestly? sad part is no one seems to be doing much playing of every side... Yes the Eldar are in need of nerfing, but only to very specific things. right now what I tend to see are some core issues. by start Eldar have more tools in the form of classes, having the only mainly ranged flyer, the only invis class, the only hover vehicles . Now yes Eldar are paper compared to the others but then pair they are fast and smaller and that most guns in EC have some decent spread and suddenly that paper quality doesn't hinder much. If you try the gun play on each faction you will notice that Eldar have on most weapons of use very minor spread and nigh nonexistent recoil, traits that other factions must heavily mod weapons to come even close too, so now at a range you have small targets that are faster and have more accurate weapons giving a real strong advantage. pair that with their flying ranged class and they can go places others can't and snipe down on them since enemy flyers will be shot down for trying. with good speed and swords while not the best they are decent in melee and their stealth class can pull nice plays with it. Honestly though the biggest offenders I think are a few guns needing more recoil or spread. The flying class needing a rework into a melee or much more limited flight. And Vehicle needing a change to how ramming infantry works as presently AV melee is useless on them, Meltas are nearly useless on them. heck anything not long range can't engage a eldar Vehicle even if built for AV work. it is a common sight to see Eldar players lazily bumper caring players for 10+ man killing sprees, a power not needed as their guns are already wonderful. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate eldar, I don't want to see them made more vulnerable, or have interesting classes like the Invis taken away, but things like this can be seen often dominating matches as they are more a result I think of oversight. take those things and rework/nerf them and then work on maybe giving the eldar some more diverse weapon options and I think they would be fine.
I don't have it so remove it in a nutshell Eldar guns do have non existent recoil it's true but spread unlike every other rifle is pretty high in comparison, no medium range capabilities, less multi kill capabilities, much lower hip fire accuracy and less mods, they also have the least weapon options in game and only have 1 weapon on 3 classes, 4 is you class Fuegans as just a fusion gun. Hawks have worst dps in game for a primary rifle and I believe the lowest possible ehp in game if memory serves me, basically they suck against anyone who has a smart bolt or slab pistol as it probably out guns a hawks gun. It's like people don't like weapons being different in both strengths and weaknesses, It's like being annoyed that CT doesn't have an AK in CSGO while having the silenced M4 to play with.
Dude ... stop posting in the forums it will save you some pain , and try all factions before posting thx
Interesting. I have been doing some Eldar, I make a point never to main a group or char in games as I feel it helps me learn how to fight whatever it is I go up against. but I have not noticed much of any spread. Shuri Cannon for example I can mid to semi long range with, I don't even need to mount it to do so. similar results for their standard Shuri rifle. and only noticed the damage rate as a issue for Hawks if I tired to fire up close which I took as a lesson to stay farther away. I actually find their high accuracy to produce a low time to kill since more shots hit the target easily. Honestly? I love A symmetrical multiplayer, heck I enjoy Depth and many Mobas for that very reason, but something being different means sometimes it needs more changes and work. I love the different way Hawks fly though I feel that with their rifle means in good hands they do too much. now I will admit I don't have the most time. I have played as of this post 136 hours on the game all clocked in this month. so perhaps I have not seen the kinda issues you have if so I am open to hear anything you have to say. honestly I enjoy every faction so far. Ork melee is a rush, Marine lock downs are satisfying, Chaos healing is feels useful and fun and Eldar have the most classes including a stealth class I have a LOT of fun with. I am not arguing for one faction over another, but I feel like if people say "Buff this but don't nerf anything else cause I feel we aren't good enough yet" then the game devs can't really listen ya know? I do feel the Eldar need something, what exactly I don't know but in order to give it to them I think at the same time the things that are too good need to be dialed back. Just like I noticed the Kannon I got on my orks is over performing I noticed Eldar vehicles over performing every time I see them used. I mean no offense though I ask do you feel the power to lightly drift into a foe and insta kill them with any of your vehicles to be fair? all other factions need to do some manner of more difficult defense of their vehicles and Eldar ones are already harder to catch due to the way they move. Different is good but different can also be fair, I love this game so far and am glad my friend showed it to me, I want to see it get better, hence why I came onto the forums last night. I don't mind Eldar being the most accurate but it feels like thier guns do not have a noticeable draw back to balance that. if there is one then please tell me what it is as I have found any match I play Eldar in to be pretty easy to win.
Or "Personal transports when I'm considerate and don't want to take an actual transport out of the pool when I'm solo tank-hunting as a Fire Dragon".
I'm just going to touch on this one. "Drifting lightly" onto anyone does not kill them. If you are lucky you will stun them (if they are Eldar, you will definitely stun them and maybe do damage, or kill them). If any vehicle so much as touches an Eldar, it is highly likely that that Eldar will die. It is rare for Eldar to just get stunned by the other factions vehicles. This whole road kill complaint theme has gotten out of hand. I think you should try two things. First, go and have some fun chasing down people in a Wave Serpent. It can be harder than it seems. then go and do the same in the other factions vehicles. I think you will find that most of the people that get run over are the ones that run down the middle of the road. People who stay to the sides don't get hit by a side swiping grave tank, in most cases.
Interesting, that has not been my experience. I have in some battles taken Eldar vehicles to the front and started lightly tapping people. to date I have never seen it fail to kill, once or twice I saw a ork kinda stagger but then he get touched right after again and dies. I have never seen a foe touched by eldar vehicles survive even once. for other faction vehicles seeing them get a collision kill is more rare than seeing a person get a triple or quad kill with one grenade. I see it but maybe once every three matches. in my experience if you stay to the side of the tanks they drift at you fast than you move without even needing to turn to face you, you get tapped then die instantly. this is a big reason I would like to see a rework so they at least only have damage on collision from the front. However am I missing a trick? if so I would love to know it
Well to be fair Eldar roadkills are a bit too high. Like Warlocks get more kills using a Wave Serpent than they do their sword, and most of our classes have the Serpent up with the most used weapons to obtain kills .
Yes. I agree with you here. The question is why? Is it too easy to get roadkills? Yes, but I think all vehicles have this in them. Yes, Eldar vehicles are better at it. The problem is, it is not easy to get kills one on one with the other Eldar weapons, so the grave tanks start to become a default weapon.
