Commissar in real life. It might make them hate it even more, but at least they would act as the reverse
I'm currently lending a buddy the first 3 books of the horus heresy, and told him to watch some youtube videos on getting an idea of the lore and background (vaults of terra guy has some great videos, and alot of them). He watched a couple videos and was suprised to see how vast the universe is. He will start reading the books soon. I'll let you know if it works.
Already on it my only non eldar nickname is 'heer komissar' i have converted three now verging or four or five, one is a space marine, one is a guardsman, the other is a chaos worshiper.
i was introduced by a friend who advised me to read horus rising. while it was hard to understand the book at first, because i didn't understand many terms, the technology and didn't know the characters, i became a fan and kept reading and collected more books and space wolves miniatures. so i been talking to this girl lately and she enjoys when i tell her horus heresy stories that i remember reading. she doesn't know enough to know what race or chapter she likes (i suspect she will like the iron hands) but she does likes when i talk about the emperor, the galaxy wide conflict, and thinks latin is a beautiful language. as for my mom, shes a big sisters of battle fan, after i showed her pictures in the 6th edition rule book, and has collected 20 miniatures that i painted so far. hey behaviour, hurry up and work on them girls and ill see if i can con mom into playing video games! and as for my 2 brothers, i showed them my space wolves miniatures and my space marines game, but they just shrug it off with indifference and no interest. i can't win them all
I just give them a pick of my books and let 'em choose whatever one's cover that catches their eye. So far,Thousand Sons is a winner for my conversion practices.
