All I see is some really really awful hit registration. You must have horrible lag. It's been proven many times that even Eldar and CSM with Slaanesh can't sprint away from LA spammers. The only exception is Fists/Klaws and maybe Axe/Mauls. Swords will definitely catch up to you and Knives should(unless your LSM/CSM as they seem to have a gimped range on theirs compared to Eldar/Orks, in a video test).
Are you worried you won't be able to bind every key to melee attack anymore and just smash your face into the keyboard?
Then you're either a newcomer to EC, have no experience with melee in other games, or you just an outright liar and talking through your ass. And way to go totally ignoring video footage that cannot lie. Lag? You kidding me? Playoffs? Playoffs! View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3-eavMSBnk Lag isn't the problem in those videos. I've 800 hours or so and 12 months of melee into this game, i know when lag is an issue and when it's not. Oh and there has been some god awful lag, but that's not the issue in the videos I posted. The attack distance(lack there of) is the obvious, crystal clear problem. Any player with even a few hours of EC melee combat under their belt would know that.
Pistols are fine when they're used in melee, against an already weakened opponent. They're absolutely useless at range against an opponent who isn't wounded. I doubt anyone could get a kill from medium range with a pistol on anyone who started with their shield and full health and isn't standing stock still the entire time. Compared to pistols in other games, where sidearms are perfectly capable of getting kills on their own, the bolt pistol etc in EC are both weak and inaccurate.
i am for a shorthen distance travel by fast attack and strong attack. how many time i got killed when i was running away from a spammer. It's pretty dumb that someone running for his live run slower than a guy waving his sword around
And yet, melee players keep dominating the score board. Melee players chase down runner all day. Melee players are making up more than 50% of teams these days. Half of your "misses" are hitting dodge roll iframes dude. I'm not a noob, I've got hundreds of hours too and I do it with a Klaw. An inferior melee combat weapon. I do even better if I put on a Choppa(god forbid the Burny Choppa) and I do it with a Slugga, not a Stormboy. Melee needs nerfs, not buffs. I say this as playing melee 99% of the time I'm playing EC and I'm just a lone wolfing scrub with no guild. Come on man, you're like literally the only person on these forums still advocating for melee buffs.
And you're still talking out of your ass. When did I ask for melee buffs? I guess if you keep telling lies as truth and making stuff up perhaps BHVR will believe it. Though I'm not going to let you put words in other's mouths or straight up ignore video footage that spells out things crystal clear. Fix what's broken. Ork insta-strong attacks that stun on contact(frontally) Banshee insta-strong attacks Eldar having superior ranged for ALL CLASSES on strong attacks. i.e their strong attack range for their DA, Fire Dragon and Hawk is longer than Ork and Astartes melee classes range on the strong attack. That's totally effing broken. Normalize attack speeds Normalize attack distances Get rid of frontal stun on fist hit(weapon not broken, no dbash, just a straight up stun lock from Ork strong attacks).
Whats broken is the lunge mechanic for the simple reason that it negates a ranged characters chance to be ranged. Even if a tactical dbash stuns, evades backwards for maximum possible distance the melee is already able to fast attack and cover that distance in a single lunge before the tactical comes out of the roll animation. If you are fighting a melee noob you might be able to get off 1-2 shots, but vs a person with a grasp of the system you have to beat them with your knife which usually wont happen. Ranged cannot create any form of gap and that is the true problem. the system is too rewarding to noob spamming. Solutions to a ranged just running away would be a staggering charge or kick at expense of stamina. Or using your pistol forcing them to counter.
Keep in mind: -3/4 of the battle for Melee classes should be attaining melee range without being killed. Once the melee player attains melee range(without getting shot to death) they should have proper advantages as a melee specialist. -If you're on a ranged class and allow a melee opponent to get within melee range you've already lost 3/4 the battle and should have a slim(1/4) chance of survival. Situational awareness is paramount. ***As a ranged class you STILL have a much higher chance at survival in a melee encounter than your melee opponent has in a ranged encounter with their Bolt pistol or shield versus a primary ranged weapon. It sounds to me like those of you who want to play COD in a 40k skin have found the wrong universe. This is the 40K universe where melee combat is ever present.
