Currently the melee system goes like this : Fast Attack > Charge Attack > Defensive Bash > Fast Attack Attacks of the same type clang and reduce stamina based on the weapon used. Now I've been thinking that it doesn't make much sense for a fast attack to beat a charge attack, and a defensive bash should mitigate at least some damage. So here is my suggestion for how the melee system could work : Charge Attack > Fast Attack Charge Attack >= Defensive Bash (The charge attack would do half damage but both attacks would otherwise clang. However the defensive bash would take more of the enemys stamina.) Defensive Bash > Fast Attack ( Would cause knockback.) The fast attack wouldn't counter anything but the speed of the attack could be used to get a strike in before a hit with a charge attack or defensive bash. I think this would prevent a lot of the hack and slash fast attacks I see a lot of and would make for a more sensible and strategic melee system. What do you guys think?
