So please enlighten me master developer

From what I know your best experience with game developers was getting banned from Warframe for being ... well you.

Edit: Also what does the difference between the developers and customer support have anything to do with the cost we were previously discussing? Absolutely nothing, you are still shooting blanks.

Honestly if someone doesn't want to deal with "harassment" on global chat, they just need to turn it off. It's a rated m game, so already it should be for mature audiences. You should not punish everyone for the actions of few, and definitely not to protect the sensibilities of people who can't handle standard online discourse.

That makes sense, hopefully the let us toggle it on at least since its currently completely off with no sign of coming back on live.

As soon as you ask a question, I can answer it. Your passive-aggressiveness is making a comeback as well.

For your edit: because developers cost more than customer support staff and do different things, which I thought was blindingly obvious but you had to ask about it anyway. The post you were quoting was saying that "it doesn't need developer input", and you said it does. There are multiple jobs/positions being discussed here, and you're stumbling over them.

Funny how people claim this game is an MMO and yet remove key chat elements I think make an MMO: Global chats etc.

Ok so answer this, if both of our examples used $10 as the price for employment and one of the employees is called customer support and the other is called a developer...whats the difference? Nothing, you again are standing on irrelevant semantics because you've got no legs to stand on.

Also doting on passive-aggressive, aggressive, what does it matter to you Mr. Thickskinned? I have and will call you a troll straight up, nothing passive about that.

World of Warcraft would like to have a word with you.

Also this game is far from an "MMO" at best it follows the literally definition and not what we all want it to be as an MMO.

Pretty sure, since I'm playing WoW right this moment, I can type /1 or /2 and be in a chat that spans either the Cities (Trade) or at least the entire zone (Local).

Or we could go with Planetside 2, which this game wished to be until it figured out that it can't aim that high, where you could literally see the other factions talking in yell in a region.

I don't understand the lake of Global Chat. Oh noes my feelings got hurt? Then ignore them. Simple as that.

Hahaha, okay, wow. I really didn't expect this. You clearly don't understand the first thing about what developers do and what customer support does.

My example did not use $10 an hour for a developer. Maybe yours is, but that's born of sheer ignorance. Being a developer, whether you're doing coding, art, any of a dozen things, is a skilled job that requires a fair few years of training and experience to do well. Being customer support requires a few weeks of training, if that, and many companies will hire people with no training and experience and give them strictly-defined scripts to follow.

You still with me? Now, because being a developer requires more investment by the person doing the job, it pays better than a job that requires less training. Just for kicks, here's an outside source: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/221533/Game_Developer_Salary_Survey_2014_The_results_are_in.php

You can see the specific breakdowns of averages of various types of development positions. Per some other pages, like http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/careers/career-advice/life-at-work/i-want-to-be-a-video-game-developer-what-will-my-salary-be/article22029750/, we have a data point for an entry-level developer job starting at 35k a year.

Now I'm sure basic math is something you can handle by bringing up the calculator program, so let's do $10 an hour times 40 hours a week times 52 weeks in a year. Did you finish? That comes out to 20.8k in a year, for a customer support position.

Can you see the difference in cost now? I can't imagine how you missed it before, but this should be clear enough to wipe away your confusion.

But can you easily chat with enemies.

That is what is relevant to this discussion.

I agree, I dunno why or how people get personally hurt but it must be real if so many studios attempt preventative measures. Maybe its the new Politically correct society, maybe its a religious thing, I really don't care TBH.

Planetside 2 is a good example of enemy chat not impacting the game too much, or enough for the devs to take action. Maybe that is the case we want the devs to use and consider giving it back or toggled.

It is however just part of our game now and we are seemingly all at least for the toggle option and are in the same boat hoping it happens.
