yeah but that isnt the same. its programmed, it isnt decision making. "if you find .virus suspicious file, put in quarantaine and/or delete" its basically settings made by the human. if the human operating the comp wouldnt give any instructions the comp wouldnt protect or heal itself since it has no survival instinct.
I'm working on this scifi story that involves AI and besides reading into the matter im lucky to know a couple of dudes who are very knowledgeble, and several of my friends work on AI-related projects, having fancy jobs and all that. im no expert myself, but the consensus seems to be we are a long way from it. funny detail: Elon Musk disagrees, so who knows.
Did someone already say that AIs are rarely used by anyone, except the T'au, and i believe that the AI are considered heresy to the imperium? also as long as we dont program the AI to do certain things, it wont do it. And finnaly, i thought the robot esque chick just had a helm that augments the voice or has many bionic augments since the imperium does that. She is not an AI. She is human with augments. Saying this stuff cuz im too busyto read what was said before
I'm kinda expecting to live a long time you know. I said within my lifetime, not soon. One day our species will know enough about the human brain that we might have to face the fact that it's very probable we do not in fact make decisions freely, instead of the current assumption we have a unique ability to have a mind that operates independently of the laws of reality.
Holy fuck that was amazing. The fact the graphical quality is on the level of games these days made me half expect the camera to slide into third person behind the Inquisitor and turn into a game level walk-through. That needs to happen. Criticisms: Despite how fucking amazing the city was, it was a pretty silly call to use Earth as the setting. It basically makes the high orbit shots wrong (no defence stations/platforms, not enough ships, not orbiting continent plates (not sure if they are only in the 31st Millennium or not)) and the sky shots wrong (not polluted enough, how is there blue skies). Pick a different planet and it's fine (lore wise anyway, probably want to not have Fists marines though). Technical shit, but not a big problem (lip syncing, the guardsmen marching) But who gives a shit really, this is brilliant. A lot of the shots remind me of the Necromunda book series covers.
Taking into consideration the opening scenes around Holy Terra...this scene of the parade was simply the most epic part of the prologue: http://i.imgur.com/OS58KVz.gifv Also...OP...you could have used a search function before making a thread: http://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/the-lord-inquisitor-movie.53349/
well at least this one is in a different sub-forum, not like the other thread that popped up today...
Loved it but the single irritant was the actual Lord Inquisitor. I kind of imagined he would be more mature and detached in his dealings, what I saw was more like a young punk. He was honestly my least favorite element.
