Well that's going to happen anyway. The core Eldar player will recognise Kin before Clan or Craftworld. I think most who play Eldar, really, REALLY want to play Eldar. Half of them will WANT to be Eldar, Roleplayers will be very active in our faction. They will fight under that Eldar flag as a cohesive unit till we understand how the meta-game, this Strategic Layer we've been hearing about, along with the Warlord/War Council dynamic and how that interacts with the Strategic Layer/actual battles. We'll see clans develop as that understanding comes. Also I get the feeling that the clans will spring from us fighting alongside each other. Start a with a PUG side, couple of good players? Remember the names, play with them again, ... , clan emerges. Again, anyone who wants to get a head start on that should. Not downing anyone who wants to set one up. This. The Faction is the key. Wrote it above. Kin before Clan. Some players won't want to join a clan, don't have time or have had bad experiences in a clan before. But they'll play the shit out of the game and we'll need them onside to win.
This would be a great General post on Eldar Forums. Call it Kin > Clan or something. I will also be making video for the Eldar community as well. I will put cool music in it (Last video I did chaos to back streets boys. They got a little up set about it lol)
Hmmm.... Let me approach this differently since this thread (path of the outcasts/harlequins) keeps growing... I can tell you that the Eldar community is alive, it just doesn't spend much time on forums of a game where there aren't many Eldar things to do. The active community drops in at the Game Events. What they do in the breaks is anyone's guess (I don't keep tabs on them), but if you actually want to see a bunch of different Eldar players/guilds from around the world, that's the place to start. For example, ~ 3 or more weeks ago, the Russian guild Will of Khaine (WoK) dropped by and roflstomped over PG and VM. A lot of us at MS try to keep the 40k vibe alive and play DoW2 - and individually the games we own run the gambit. Nonetheless, and I know it sounds a bit utopic, but since I'm in charge of the events, I really do enjoy the sense of open door community at these events, it really is Kin > Clan, which is the whole point. If you're looking for a guild, virtually all of them can use more members and the one that's been silently lurking for the longest is @XenoFire's (who's name escapes me and they're still newcomers compared to the others.) @Zed-Avatar is a regular at the events and leads the Swordwind. Black Widow Company (which is massive) has sent envoys to our event days. They're good fun to play with but I have no idea how serious they're looking at the Eldar as a whole. I am the US (CST) based officer of the MS. We have members all over Europe and a whole division in Oceania. MS is well prepared for a 3 way server split, though like everyone else we'd much rather all be together. Truly the best way to get involved is get into an event. If the schedule doesn't work for you, let me know! I will set up other days even if I can't personally be there. In fact, I have about 30 mins right now if you want to add me on Steam, we can hop in and wreck some loyalist face if you'd like.
I will update my MS information, my my profile. I will book mark the page as well. Would it be fair to say, Eldar are in a holding pattern until they are released for the most part ? I will put up a Bonzi Kitty Gaming link on the forums and what have you. If that is cool with you. Also spoke to wifey about Eldar events (happy wife, happy life) and how i need to record them for video purposes, I got the go ahead. Once again, just keeping the forums active, and us just spending time talking / BS-ing / Theory crafting / sharing links is a good way to get the ball rolling
I agree to all of your post. Eldar are definitely holding. There's no Eldar to play in EC - so we play them in other games. Awesome! And Awesome(r)! Thirdly, if you can't make it to events, don't worry about it, there will always be more. Also, if there's a better day, you can always let me know, we can add more events. Hell, I don't even care if you host them so long as they happen and carry the vibe of what we're already doing at MS. (open to all kin, no pressure, no recruiting, you'll see, ect.) I agree. Though there is a limit to what we should be saying within view of unfriendly eyes....
I alerted Veiled Starlight to this thread and they'll probably be joining us. They weren't aware the faction's release was moved up. So there's that.
Where can I find the schedule for those events? Though it will matter more when Eldar are actually in the game, since I don't really play other 40k games.
Agreed. I will make sure to keep intel on the down low. I am happy to here MS is alive and kicking. I will make a point of being more active on the website ! This is good. @Demetri_Dominov Is it cool to put MS stuff up on all my social media and plug the clan in the video ? Also do we have a clan tag yet ? I will slap it on as soon as I get home. I have noobs to kill today in the name of the Eldar FEELING THE HYPE AGAIN !!!!!
