It might be just me being absolutely dense about gamedevelopment but i still see no obstacles for devs to do all the campaign stuff on a separate server. Core system? Doesn't matter, just like they introduce PVE and armor customisation they will introduce the campaign; Difficulties with code/test? Still not a deal, it just means more time spent on that, doesn't affect delivering it to the live server.

They dont need many testers to make stuff. They develop it, they test it internally, and if they somehow don't have a small amount of testers they need (to say, moderators, DJs, public people) they will bring it in an unfisnished state and fix it from there

How many people are on UAT at a given time? 5-10 people?
You want to test a campaign-mechanic with a number of people so small that you can barely launch a match?

Good morning everyone, I haven't read the previous 20 pages so apologies, we have our hands full with the UAT and Early Access update right now. But I do have tea and am apparently less stressed than about getting in all these features, how much of the feature is pre-launch and post-launch. This might be because we are an online game and we will continually add for years to come, even eventually the wildest dreams.

Your concerns have been noted many times, now and before when we've talked about the meta, just as we ourselves are concerned about what enters the game and when. Moving things around in time is like killing unicorns for us. We feel it too.

It's pretty trivial though to add to a game in expansions, new systems, replace systems etc. post launch so if you're in doubt about that, this is common practice in the online industry and is quite commonplace. Not expanding post-launch is the death of an online game.

That we switch from "Early Access" to launch isn't a big operation on our end, we flip a switch on the Steam page. The launch date is for the street date of retail boxes. That's a bit more than flipping that switch on Steam.

I'm happy to pick this up on Twitch Friday but as usual, and hopefully share more there if I get confirmation on things this week which I've been promised and waiting for for a long time. Yeah, it happens to all of us :)

Again, thanks for believing in us. I can't blame you if you don't any more. Transparency, Early Access, Alpha, Beta ... this is a side effect this project decided to live by and take the consequences from. Including your choice to leave.

Game development is slow and ugly, filled with masochists that still try to make it work. I hope you all have a great day.

    Test what?

Test the new shadowing effects, the new animation, the new weapon, the slightly altered vehicle-physics, the new map?

Oh yeah. Developing and testing Space Wolves-beards and Iron Warriors-bionics will definitely put this game forward.

What this game DOES NOT need in time before launch are more mission-types, new game-mechanics, Elites and Heroes, campaign and Warlords, PvPvE...

What this game DOES need in time before launch is to make sure that the Space Wolves have beards.

I wasnt aware that adding, what a lot of people consider, the MMO element to a game was something trivial.
But im not a develeper what do i know right!

    Hi

    I am really curious.

    First question:

How are you planning to attract enough positive publicity and enough new players to EC when your sales-pitch is:
"Buy this lobbyshooter now, we will add the good stuff eventually. We promise."

    What will a gaming-journalist write about a game with such a sales-pitch?
What will prospective buyers think and talk about a game with such a sales-pitch?

    Second question:

Is there any chance to postpone launch to get this game in at least some somewhat decent shape before presenting it to the public as a finished game?

Please do this. Upvote. No release without a real map/campaign.

Elites and Heroes are still going to be a thing. Bikes aren't a major feature. I never actually heard of that campaign thing, but that makes 2 only still among like... 6 I mentoined that delievered?

So you ARE indeeed, nitpicking :)

... That's not how it works... I can say "WOW THIS GAME IS FINAL VERSION BECAUSE IT HAS 2k TEXTURES ALREADY!" or "WOW THIS GAME HAS MORE THAN 1 MARINE; MEANS CONTENT; MEANS ITS BETA!"
