It's honest but it's also a bit misleading. If somebody told me Mass Effect was free to play and I only got to play the first level as a demo, I'd be upset.

It's not when you capitalize it. You're being overly literal. By your definition WoW, EVE, TESO, Space Marine, and about 95% of the Steam store is "Free to Play", because they offer a trial or demo for free.

I assure you the developers of all those games, and pretty much anyone in the game industry, would disagree with your assessment.

"Free" Orks are a limited-functionality demo. Period. The fact that they can only play three classes and can only pull transport vehicles makes this glaringly obvious.

And I'm sure that if someone came on here railing about the evils of Free to Play, you'd be quick to point out that Eternal Crusade is not a Free to Play game either. Alright, there's nothing inherently wrong with being Buy to Play, but you do have to clearly decide just what your game will be.

You can't just flip back and forth on a whim, claiming to be F2P when it's convenient, and claiming to be B2P when that's more convenient instead. EC is very clearly not postured to run as a F2P game at the moment, and so they should clearly and consistently position themselves as B2P. To maintain a clear and unified message, the Ork situation should be referred to as a trial until and unless EC decides to make the leap to an entirely different business model.
