Wow, been ages since I've been to the site. A lot has changed. When this forum first started up there was a lot of chatter regarding XBO/PS4 versions of the game. Looking online now, there's not much discussion at all. Has a XBO/PS4 version of this game been canned? Or is it still in development?
Nothing is still confirmed. They want to bring it to the consoles, they are even doodling with making it as easy as possible to do it when they get a confirmation (lots of attention is on controllers these months it would seem). But its not their call, and its still not confirmed. Its comes down to Microsoft/Sony more then EC, if they want to play ball they gotta go by bE rules though.
Thanks, theres a lot of console players hoping this pays off. A lot of us would have been happy to be console founders program participants too.
My understanding (at least partially confirmed in the last vid) is that they are designing the UI to work well with both mouse/keyboard and game controller. They even mentioned the consoles, but Miguel stopped at that point to advise that they are still in negotiations. So it seems that they are planning to go with consoles but do not have agreements signed yet. Rumor is that they want all players on the one server and not have Xbox people, PS4 people, and PC people in three different areas. That could well be an issue as Sony and Microsoft do love them some monopolizing and do not play well with others.
Another problems is the Update frequency, BE wants to update the game often, and without restrictions that consoles tend to put on Devs. But yes they are designing the game also for consoles, in the last twitch they talked about UI, and they design it to be usable for PC Monitors and TVs. Edit: Maybe we will see some progress when EC has a publisher, I would think they help with such stuff.
Restrictive updating died with last gen. Dev's are free to update as often as they want on PS4/XBO without cost. Thank god.
Really? I heard Miguel talk about it, but then the video was probably from before the new consoles were released. Good news indeed (even though I will play it on PC )
Ps4 and xbo are atleast more similar to eachother/pc development environment, one step in the right direction atleast. http://www.polygon.com/2014/8/28/6078403/ps4-xbox-one-cross-platform-content-the-golf-club Seems positive for cross platforming. Its just those negotiations, were holding our breath waiting for an answer. According to the article the colaboration were good, took time but atmosphere where at "how can we solve this", rather than obstacles/setbacks.
Hopefully at least one of the two will buy into EC. I'm sure Behavior is aware of the amount of cash and press they'll miss out on if EC isn't available on consoles in any form.
