Ferdinand sat at his own table with his armor off as it had been taken off after that Ferifan woman did something to fix his legs the previous night. His body smelled of smoke and he would need a new tabard for his armor but he was alive and able. For that he was very thankful perhaps he could repay her someday. But for now they were planning their next move and there was some kind of beast in the mines that had been called a 'Doomspider' by the little creature he still wasn't completely sure was real. "So then this Village faces two threats that cannot be ignored. I have an idea for the creature in the mine which would simply be flooding the cave with smoke to either suffocate it or drive it to the surface where we can ambush it. I'm afraid I won't be much help in the tracking of that camp though."
Red sat at the bar looking at the others still in full armor only semi cleaned last night with a dry cloth, "Sounds like true scum, If they are still taking people they maybe using who they take as recruits or indoctrinating them to there ideals, and they dare hide and use our name they deserve a fate worse then death." Red said his voice was filled with hatred and rage as he at on a bar stool. "These mines there filled with spiders? Would it be possible to smoke them out or burn them out? or possibly use them to aid the village by killing them and harvesting there meat if any of there flesh is not poisonous may help them with there food trouble, If the spiders have any silk it maybe a useful material to sell or possibly trade and help them get back on there feat along with any remaining chitin could be used as materials for building or as something to sell." Red said making a observation and slowly coming up with a plan for the spiders. The knight silent as he began thinking outside the box with the possibility of taking on the mine.
Pale Isra sighed as she slowly moved through the village, the signs of a raid openly upon it. She had been weary from the long trek since her last proper rest, and to find the place that was to be her next stop sacked was quite demotivating. All around her, busy northerners scrambled to rebuild what had been broken - burned, it seemed to the experienced raider, and only recently. Pulling a soaking wet lock of black hair out of her face, the fighter's gait slowed down even further. She mused, briefly, about what to do; eventually, not even walking forward anymore. The right thing would be to help, she knew. This was likely what the great Saint would appreciate. But it would also delay her further from arriving in Oswil, and the Acralacan was certain that she had already wasted too much time. Oh, how much she wanted to answer the call. But she knew that her sense of duty towards Elsuine's fellow faithful would win out anyway. Resuming her slow walk, the heavily-armed and armoured Pale Isra kept crossing the rain to seek out the one place that experience has taught her would always serve as a northerner social hive: the place of food and drinks, and often, lodgings. Her appearance and accent served to raise eyebrows among those she asked for directions, but in the end, she found the tavern she had been looking for, and entered unbidden, glad to be in the dry for now. No, she was no stranger to rain, but in her homeland, where it was a reprieve from thirst and heat, it was a much different sensation than in these realms. The veteran raider looked around briefly to orient herself in the serving space, not failing to notice the odd abundance of armed - well-armed - people in this place that she had believed to be a fairly peaceful place. Clearing her throat, she spoke up to ask a question that seemed natural to her: "Many warriors in this place. What happened here to have it see this destruction and patronage?"
Victor and Ulrich listened to Noburo's interrogation results with interest. They payed equal amount of heed to Red's and Ferdinand's ideas. "They might be trying to regroup. With luck they already are dealing with this Doomspider, beating each other bloody. These heretic's attention is divided and they already were given a beating." Victor added. Ulrich agreed to this with a nod. "Don't know how we are going to set fire to a mine. It's constructed of rock, the abducted people might be in there too. Sure we want to risk choking them all if that is the case? We'd need to find someone who knows how to track in the woods if we are to assault their forest camp too." Ulrich said with a pensive look on his face. "This mage couldn't think of a better title than 'Prophet'? Sounds boring and pretentious. 'Enlightened' my ass..." The blacksmith chuckled to himself while eating a loaf of bread. "I have absolutely no idea how to make commodities out of beast insects either. Don't think any of us do." Said Victor scratching the back of his head. "PFEH! Pepper, salt, boil it and slather it in butter and you got yourself a tasty meal." The hefty cook shouted from the back and downed half a pint of beer in record time. The squires laughed a little at this, making the mood a little lighter amidst the doom and gloom. Even Gwyneth smiled a little amidst all her worries. At this moment Isra stepped in and spoke. The group's focus was on her now. "What is this to you, traveler? Raiders, pretenders, blasphemers all are responsible for this attack, exploiting the lack of domestic security because of the crusade. As if this these times weren't troubling enough." Ulrich addressed the Acralacan warrior, fixing his dour appraising gaze on her. @Casavay @TuskatheDaemonKilla @Colapse @Maleth @ItsTime @Shadhunter @BloodySoulStealer @Vulpas @Vlayden
Isra raised her shoulders in an offended gesture and turned to face Ulrich. The prideful posture fizzled when she laid gaze on the man - and his company. For a moment, she matched her title, but as quickly as her eyes had widened, the surprise had been overplayed with a cough. "Well... Who wouldn't care about raided borders? At this scale? It's a danger to civilization. Can't an Elusite care?" She approached the man, and by extension, the group, slowly, and with more than a bit of hesitation. "I came here as a follower. Of the Saint. It's a matter of honour to lend aid." Pale Isra laid a gloved hand on her heart. "And if the problem can be killed, I'd be a hypocrite not to try." Words that, when spoken by sellswords, were usually laden with the innuendo of impending payment, came out of her mouth with what seemed to be genuine conviction. "Not... that I need to tell you, Sir Knight."
"This town was attacked by those wearing Her crown with falsehood and malicious action. This is a major crime against Elusine and Her people." Ulrich responded to Isra and eyed the pendants of Elusine on her neck. His ability to trust had begun to strain lately. Victor stepped forth and placed a hand on his commander's shoulder and smiled at Isra. "There are always room for Her capable faithful, allies can be in short supply in these times, Ulrich. This one has honor." He spoke in a friendly manner, placing a hand on Isra's shoulder too now. At the mention of honor, Ori scoffed and spat on the tavern floor, openly showing his disapproval of her. He stared daggers at Isra and mumbled something in his native tongue to his one surviving retinue soldier, Isra didn't quite make it out what but it wasn't flattering that's for sure. Ulrich ignored Ori, he had never enjoyed the Acralacan ranger's company to begin with. "She will be given a chance to prove it then." Ulrich addressed everyone now, not before giving a slight nod to Isra. "It seems we are about to have two groups, one to assault the camp in the forest and one to deal with the mine. Question is; how?"
"The Mine. Do we know how many entrances it has? If so it could be possible to lure the spiders out and kill them when they leave by using either the dead, or flesh to lure them out of there whole." Red said his voice was cold and uncaring of the idea of using dead as lure, Red only gave a slight suspicious eye to the new comer but made sure to have on the look out encase she was not who she said to be. "It maybe useful to make our foes a bit more useful in death after the damage they done help undoing it by using there bodies as bait to lure out spiders. Could even be used when the spiders come out to have a few try to go in the mine and retrieve what people are in there while the spider are busy eating or investigating disturbances around there nest." Red said giving out ideas for a plan to handle the cave. "The men who attacked us last night if they are in the forest, they are likely going to be resting but having a few on watch as some rest and recuperate from last knights repelled attack with them, Might not be able to sneak up on them and maybe a better tasked to scout them out before making a plan of attack possibly even having us clear them out if possible after the doom spiders been cleared out. though if time is off the essence it maybe a idea to set up simple snare traps and fight them while on the move possibly use more under handed tactics to defeat them, or possibly even make the environment more deadly to them. after we find them and find what may be the best methods to deal with what there numbers might be. " Red added himself thinking over the situation as tactically as he could within what would likely be useful while the team that went into the forest went looking. "The forest.. wasn't there a few hunters in the town? Would there be any that knows the area well enough that could help guide or give us a map when helping search the forest? it maybe of some use to find some spots for game, or getting supplies that might help us find these heretics hiding hole along with paths to help us navigate and find the easiest ways they or us could take." Red added before becoming silent.
"Well-- no destroyin that damn mine." the ferret spoke up, looking around at the group from Shaila's shoulder that he deemed his perch. "There're people in there, I saw that fer a fact, 'n I don' wanna have us be known fer killin' folk fer the sake of just brushing problems away." "If we kin get what folks that're in there out, it'd be aright t'a try t' blow th' entrance down, cave-in and all. Jus' no sacrificin' people t'a do it!"
"Yes, as I recall, there were some hunters living in this town although how many or if any of them survived is anyone's guess now," Noburo said as he leaned back in his char, "Safety of people comes first and the mine must be explored, no matter the danger. That aside, the forest camp is our strongest lead at finding more information about these attackers and isn't that the reason we came here in the first place?" "I volunteer to go to this forest and find the bandit hideout. I have some experience in tracking in case we are unable to find a local who would help us out with it, but overall, I think we should split our forces and tackle both objectives."
Listening to everyone else and giving a small welcoming nod to the newcomer, Elisa then said "Well, I'd like to also head out into the forest, given I doubt this 'Prophet' character is going to be dumb enough to let themselves be trapped in the mines." Pausing for a moment, the Mage then said "Speaking of the mines, when I went down there I did find that there were only... Two tunnels left open, so it should be easy to work out where the Spider would be and where anyone trapped inside would be located." With that said, she decided to wait and see who else aside from herself and Noburo would likely be heading to the forest camp, just in case she needed to be extra careful with anyone that likes charging into the fray.
