The sounds of such horrid noises were causing the ferret to breathe a bit more rapidly than he usually should, twitching a bit every so often. Once the... Skittering had stopped (he'd heard such things too often in the castle; hearing them so damned loudly was a living nightmare), he'd step out from the carriage and try to smell whatever was there. If there was a kid beside him, he had to at least help them. Right? Once he'd gotten any sign she was still there, he'd whisper out, "Hey; someone there??" knowing his voice wouldn't carry too far from the cart. If there was still something there, well... Benjamin only prayed it'd be little more than a terrified kid, and not some monster to munch on his remains.
@ItsTime @Shadhunter @Colapse @TuskatheDaemonKilla @Valonox "Don't say that too loud or they will hear you. Morale is a powerful tool." Victor elbowed Asher discreetly to his side to drive the point home. "These people deserve a chance." The men were still chuckling a little after Noburo's disciplining. Nevertheless Asta had that look in her eye that she would not back down. "I know what I'm doing." Asta whispered back at Shaila without taking her eye off her would be opponent. The one who protested stepped forward, he was considerably bigger than her. "Just put that thing down. You'll humiliate yourself." In response Asta spat on his boot. He didn't take that so well. Lunging for her weapon arm, he grabbed her wrist and tried to twist it. Asta countered with a vicious kick to the inner side of his knee. He fell down on one knee but still held on to her sword arm's wrist. He yanked Asta's arm violently and she nearly fell off her feet, it almost looked like a ragdoll being thrown about. Asta grabbed the claymore's blade with her free hand and used the increased leverage to drive the pommel into his face. It connected with a nasty sounding thud and he screamed in pain falling backwards on the ground. That makes three broken noses today. Asta caught her breath and stared the others down. None wanted to be seen beaten by a girl in front of the toughest guys in the village, so they all agreed on Asta being the leader. Eventually the protester picked himself up but didn't leave this little training area. Asta admired the blade in her hands. Her hands tightening around its grip, she swung it slowly a few times to get a proper feel of the weapons weight. She soon snapped out of it and walked over to Shaila to return the claymore. She visibly hesitated before extending the hilt for Shaila to grab, her expression was one of determination and defiance. This woman had an iron hard fighting spirit. "I think that settles it." Victor said with a wide smile on his face. At this point, Henry (Victor's squire) arrived with two peasants in tow carrying burlap sacks, lots of sturdy sticks, rope and hay. Soon enough they had a row of five training dummies set up and they were working on more.
Cyntheria took a deep breath and looked to Elisa. "Thank you. I am sorry I just am not used to this yet. I am a quick learner so hopefully it won't take me long. But I am a little curious what is past this pit. I will be careful and will find you soon." She bowed to show her respect and thanks before using her hands and feet to find a way around it to go further. She thought if something was here it might use the mines and what traps it could still have from when people worked in them. She now was stepping lightly and using her feet and hands to check the walls and ground of the mines. In the back of her mind she was being reminded of a past memory. The dark quiet mines were unerving. She pushed the memory out the best she could and kept pushing forward. She knew she couldn't lose control. She had to stay calm and relaxed. No one was there to get her back if she lost control. She took a breath and started to think to herself. "I have a promise to keep. I will not fail you master. I swore to protect you and the comrades in here. I will stay strong and bring them back."
"Some what yes, and somewhat no. "Red said as he continued digging, "I never officially became a knight of Elusline order due to my houses destruction, Though I have worked many times with the Elusline knights serving with many former and current knights in my unit, And I am currently working under one at the moment as well." red said before noticing one of the peasants pointing at the dagger. "The Dagger was my father's passed down to me after his death." Red said as he continued working only some of his concentration broken by the villagers questions.
@Vlayden "He-hello?" Whispered the girl as quiet as she could. Now those heavy footsteps on too many legs could be heard again. It came closer. In fact it had been closer than expected. Scared out of her mind the girl started whimpering and sobbing. Benjamin saw in the dark how some kind of large mass moved over the mine cart. This is when Elisa reached the edge of the same space, and heard the footsteps and sobbing. (Invisibility works wonders in the dark against beasts that can better see in it.) @Maleth The girl screamed in horror on top of her lungs, it was harrowing how it echoed and filled the mine. Cyntheria could hear the scream clear as day. ( @BloodySoulStealer ) Benjamin just made out how the child was lifted up and how she kicked in the air with her little feet in horror. Then just like that the screaming stopped, like someone had flicked a switch for it. The child was neatly and slowly laid down on the ground. Judging from the sounds the thing moved away again a lot further this time, the sound of heavy footsteps could be heard until they faded away from hearing. Perhaps it was gone? OOC @BloodySoulStealer Before your attempt at crossing the pit in pitch black darkness while invisible, Cyntheria heard the scream and could still decide if she goes to investigate it with Elisa or try to cross the pit.
Shaila pushed the claymore back towards Asta. "You may keep it for the duration of this conflict if you so desire." Shaila nodded. "It's only an auxiliary blade to me. To you, it may mean more..." She stepped passed Asta and onto the man she had sparred with. "This might sting a little but I think there's been enough broken noses here today." She gently placed a hand on his face and channeled the energy necessary to repair the injury. Once finished she took in several deep breaths, the drain not quite as severe as before, the wound had require far less energy to repair, but it was still noticeable. She nodded with a smile before she returned back to Asta's side should the woman have anything else to say or ask.
Ferdinand decided to put his helmet back on after the small confrontation between the woman and another villager. Three broken noses in one day, Aldenvater preserve him he feels like he's at home during sparing day. Only it's not snowing and the grand master isn't barking out instructions about how they can't afford for them to take leave with a broken nose. Not to mention he's surrounded by southerners and his wounds still hurt. So really it isn't like home at all and he's just loathing his life for being sent here instead of following his brothers directly to the actual crusade. He got onto one knee and rose to his feet for a moment and grabbed his axe. "I feel as though what just happened is good example of why you should never underestimate your opponent." He said looking to the rest of the training group. He figured he could offer advice to them while the other two actually get then arranged for training. The man from the east had the right idea about spears. A child could use one effectively so surly these men could use them too.
"Yes, this settles it indeed," Noburo finally spoke, giving an affirmative nod over to Asta before going towards the squire and helping him raise the training dummies. Once the spears arrived, he would give each peasant one spear and show them how to properly use it. "It's a simple yet quite effective weapon. Legs back, sharp point forward, and stab," he explained as he did what he was telling about himself and stabbed one of the dummies in the chest. "Me and my comrades Shalia and Ferdinand can help you with this. Watch us and listen to our advice and you shall be ready."
Upon hearing the other's Cyntheria stopped what she was attempting and ran down the caves to the others. She held her blades tight as a small smirk came on her face. She rushed down using what she could remember and see to get there quickly. Her eyes showing a slight bloodlust. She called out to the others trying to keep her voice calm. "Elisa, Benjamin! Are you both okay?" Her body shook slightly as she ran to the others and trying to pick up on any noises other than just them.
A few tense seconds went by as the screaming was cut short, before the ferret made his decision - sniffing at the air and... To his surprise, NOT smelling blood, skittered back to the entrance. He at least could remember his course, and wasted no time whatsoever - in fact not caring at all if the beast heard him and came after him. Once he'd gotten to the entrance, the wild-eyed ferret looked up to whoever was there. "G-Girl! Spider! BIG SPIDER! Fraggin' bigger than a horse or somethin- girl needs help! Not dead I-- I don't think so! Do we have fire?! A--And more people!"
