I can't stop laughing, the voice chat in Planetside is one of the worst in terms of quality and amount of trolls. I only use it for the command channel and sometimes squad and platoon when I run a random platoon with my outfit. I agree that we need a command channel equivalent, and maaaybe a squad channel, though I think tis won't be needed. IIRC squads will usually be set and therefore be able to use TS. Most "gamers" use at least one of the softwares you mentioned. But I think, proximity chat will be negligible.
