I just got the game with a friend and i really wanted to be a healer like in planetside 2, overwatch etc and after seeing chaos sorc and warlock with their beam heals i thought SM would have something equal but upon playing it feels 10x worse. Not only is it the most infuriating thing to have to be 0.1 CM away from a guy to heal them or revive them but if they move or you do not look straight at them it does not work or cancels, fml i spaz out when this happens. I downed a player in melee and tried to kill him but a sorc healer was healing him so much it was impossible, they can revive downed people from range with beam? the beam heal is easy to use and powerful. What do i get? the most obnoxious heal mechanic ever. Do they have plans to major buff the way SM healing works because it's depressed me a lot with it being this pathetic. P.S I die when trying to revive someone in melee but sorcs etc can revive from safety? hows that balanced.
I played a lot as a Apothecary recently (to be honest as SM I was playing ONLY as apothecary) and I enjoyed it a lot. Warlocks and Sorcerers might have healing beams, but we can instantly revive anyone and also grant them some boosts (better protection, 20% more melee dmg, healing after the revival). Also Apothecaries can unlock one NEAT gadget - apothecary beacons. Basically it's a healing grenade that will stick to the surface and heal everybody around it for 20 sec. So I'd say that healer classes are balanced, but they are different. Personally I prefer apothecary over sorc
I kind of wish the Beacon gave a slow tick of xp for each heal. Otherwise levelling as Apoc is vastly inferior to killwhoring as an Assault, despite the fact I'm contributing more to wins with my heal support. Don't get me started on the dodgy hitboxes for Narthecium use. Or the general playbase running from healers...or healers running from me when I'm another class.
It's not. On top of the fact that you often can't properly target players for healing. The only consolation is that you can get healing beacons and the tool provides a buff while beams do not (other continuous healing).
How do you revive instantly? I seem to have to stand there and cast the heal on them as if i am healing myself.
I think @CptDred meant that unlike Sorcerers that need to apply the beam until the person's health reaches 100 to revive him, Apothecaries just pop the narthecium in and the person gets revived no matter what with full health. Or something like that.
Chaos Beam heals, continiously, revives people from range for 100 lp Total cost to be an effective healer and support 100 lp SM Seringe in the butt, revives, heals people from a range where i get worried about personal space for 100 lp Beacons, 3x charge continiously heal and revive in an area for 150 lp Total cost to be an ineffective healer and copy past tactical who cant cap 250 lp
It's not like if more than being limited to Boltgun, the Apothicary can't even use some of the Bolter Modifier / Pattern Bolter.
what weps can apoth use? i just got as bolter from a box but cant equip it. Also playing sorc right now, it's soo much more fun than apoth and i can self heal while taking dmg and moving and healing really helps the team, so depressing lol... Well maybe it's time to go Traitor!
