Last time i said the melta crusade is crying for nerfs on the melta. They have yet to post a single suggestion about its AI damage. And they cant even tell what is wrong with MM.
No single person should be allowed to destroy a tank in seconds, especially before the enemy team even gets a chance to shoot him. This completely detracts from the team effort to kill tanks, and destroys most of the value tanks have. It also denies that team triumph feeling like "Yes we killed the rhino. Good job team!" Nerfing melta, both bombs and guns, would increase the value of lascannons and krak grenades. I look forward to the day that taking down a tank requires the coordinated effort of a team rather than one guy suicide running over and over. Not sure MM needs much of a nerf. It seems kinda pointless to sacrifice the tactical's mobility to bring a multimelta when the melta gun easily destroys any tank alone in seconds. Only the MM should really be capable of this type of heat rampup. In exchange for this, I'd like to see fire pike (at huge loadout cost - possibly even limited to revered fire dragsons) and an ork equivalent. All the anti-tank classes should get a more-powerful melta-type weapon, but the fire dragons should be far more limited in their use due to their mobility.
Melta damage got slightly nerfed this last patch. I think it's fine where it is now. There's really nothing wrong with melta anymore. Do people complain about Ground Assaults running across open fields against firepower making it to melee because of a skillful advance, or leaping out of a transport in order to get to a point and capture it? No, it's totally fair for them to do so. There are tactical answers to all of your concerns. If you have them, I'd suggest finding an alternative approach. If you don't want to commit to using a gun designed to kill tanks, don't equip it. If you don't want to drop bombs on a tank, don't equip meltabombs, if you want to help but don't want to commit a loadout but want to have an anti-tank option, use krak grenades and encourage others to help you. If you're in a tank, ask for AV support. If you're in a five man pred, you should be dominating the battle with a rediculous amount of firepower. No meltagun should even come close to you, AV is not your job INSIDE the tank, you're on a team of at least 14 other people, if a transport gets to you in a 5 manned tank, somebody on your team failed. If you're really worried about transports getting to you, understand they have about a 3 minute respawn, and a limited number on each match. If you have an AV option, tank hunt and leave your own tanks at home for a little bit. THEN pull your tank and watch the doom unfold. If you got melta'd via an enemy coming out of a transport, you either put the tank in the wrong spot, or the AV on your team didn't do its job.
PRetty much the same when they are being told to drive away from meltas. For whatever mad reason they believe they should escape from full stop from the moment melta is slapped on tanks rear-apparently they have never been driving with the gunner, effectively preventing melta users any kind of approach at all, mitigating possible damage to that of a las cannon shot while they get in range for a moment. Not really, heat applied is the same as it was, overheating lasts just as long, dmg dropoffs are the same.
they should make rhinos have armor points that regenerate for each side and once one side of it reaches zero it can take damage from all attacks from that side
Have done. Several times by myself. If there's more than one dragon on the fortress map, we can often destroy rhinos before they can even get inside the gate... let alone if they crash into a crate, at which point they are completely doomed. Even if we die before the rhino goes down, the flame ramp is often more than enough to incapacitate. God forbid we actually have a hawk with haywires too. I can only imagine what a coordinated Eldar team could do to tanks. Failing that, a single fusion gun getting a few seconds on a passing rhino is enough to take at least a 3rd of it's health if not more. Compare this to the fraction of damage krak and plasma grenades do, and the several shots it takes a lascannon to destroy a rhino. The fact that the tooltips claim plasma grenades are effective against tanks is a joke. Sure they damage tanks, but it's a drop in the ocean of tank health pools.
