Aaaaalright. Been through the Garrison. Done all the skulls. Jumped into a game. Died 50 times, got a lucky shot, got one kill. Well.. maybe fighting all those founder Veterans is a bad idea... Try some PvE instead to get to grips with the game, no? Hehe. No, not really. Honestly though. This game feels very odd. You yourself feel very clunky and slow, whereas the action is SO bloody fast I can't for the live of me react to it. It feels like I'm missing a very integral part... I'm not even talking the melee system, thats something I need to practice anyway. So... What do I miss? I seriously do not "get" this game at all. Am I just too old with my 36 years and get outplayed by 15 year old with lightning reflexes? The specific advice in the noob FAQ is already above me. Yes, do not walk into friendly fire. Do not cause friendly fire. How should one start? I've got access to some coin from the Founders Pack I bought all those months ago if that's any help.
Here mostly comes a values of Astartes - resolve and patience. Only hours in game will help you I would say after 50 hours spent you will be ok. Will get kills, will die, but will be more or less happy. Great joy comes after 200+ You kill lots and die less than before. Of course there always be people who will kill you even after 2000 hours in game. And they die to someone too..
lower your sensitivity, I found with mine near the lowest setting the game becomes 10x more manageable stick to shooting till you have a 'basic' grasp of melee else those melee experts gonna krump ya. stick with your squad goes a long way
That...sounds awful. No, the best trick for starting out is to leave any game facing Eldar until they get fixed, and make sure you stay close to your squad. Strength in numbers and all that. Work as a team and communicate, because lone wolfing doesn't work well.
Ow... this will be most painful. 50h of getting my behind handed to me? Im not even aiming at a 1:1 ratio. Nor even at a 2:1 or even a 3:1. I'd be happy for a 5:1 for the start... but this game is too difficult for Beginners, definately. Well. time to try out how STUBBORN I can be. I just feel sorry for my team, me being unable to carry my weight... On that note - what is the "easiest" class to begin with? The mention Dev with Plasma? Edit: Ah, that sounds better. So Tactical, stick with team, try to shoot stuff.
Just pick the Tactical preset and play like a coward. Zoom in and plink plink plink. Be paranoid of your surroundings, always take cover and when moving across ground go from cover to cover or take covered paths. Stay as far away from any melee combat as possible.
