Since the lore explains that Space Marines are able to create a type of acid which can be used to corrode through light metals and can blind enemies when spat in their face/eyes, so would be nice to see another reason for a Space Marine to go helmetless at the cost of dying in pretty much 1 headshot, allowing the Marine to stun/blind an opponent would be very useful and might save their lives occasionally. The blinding effect could either just be an acidic splash across the screen or a black screen for a temporary duration or it could just be a short stun; both of these suggestions i would assume would delay an opponent in melee combat by 1 - 2 seconds. What are your thoughts on this? please post your reasons for picking the choice you did in the poll in the thread once you have voted, if your thoughts vary from what i have put in the poll section, feel free to come up with your own ideas of how something like this could be implemented, or if it should be at all. EDIT: whoops, forgot to add the "I disagree with the idea of giving Astartes such a feature, please post your reasons in the thread." sorry, if you disagree with the idea entirely please post a comment in the thread explaining why again, sorry for the mistake.
As you said, it could make helmetlessness an interesting choice besides looking cool (and it would respect the lore if some chapter couldn't do it). But i never really liked this fact in the Space Marine Lore (too strange and far from my vision of them as "parangon of humanity") so i'm not this enthusiastic. Either way, the effect should be short in time and only at very close range. I want to play "invincible" superhuman knights, not some toxin spitter giants or Tyranid xenomorphs.
I agree wit hthe helmetless part, as for the acid not so much. If they were to put the spitting part in, it could be a taunt at most, but a stunt no.... WERE SPACE MARINES DAMMIT NOT SOME XENOS FILTH!!-
Sounds like some Tyranid heresy, brother! Why would you need this feature? This should be a really close-distance spell, you don't want to get thousands of players running around and spitting in your face from 500 meters like some kind of "human artillery. And i can't remember SM using this ability much in the books, etc.
I'll uh.. I'll just leave this here. http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Creation_of_a_Space_Marine "Betcher's Gland: Consists of two identical glands, implanted either into the lower lip, alongside the salivary glands or into the hard palette. The gland works in a similar way to the poison gland of venomous reptiles by synthesizing and storing deadly poison, which the Marines themselves are immune to due to the gland's presence. This allows a Space Marine to spit a blinding contact poison. The poison is also corrosive and can even burn away strong metals given sufficient time. " Also, i don't recall ever saying that they can spit acid like human artillery, where did you come to that assumption? lol.

Sure, it's not essential. But what's the point of taking off your helmet in-game if it's already been said you will probably take more damage, just to look cool?
Hell yeah. We can't see the system of damage-taking etc. If it's more like an action-slasher it will be more about the skills though. As for me - i won't take off the helmet. (trying to stay with the codex is tough for Angels anyway.)
I suppose you'll get some people who do it because it looks cool, but it's probably going to lead to a lot of annoying deaths until very few people do it, or almost no one does it. A marine without his helmet on will most likely take more damage, in fact i think i actually saw a comment from one of the devs about taking more damage with the helmet off at one point, will have to see if i can find a source, will edit this post at some point if i do find one.
